I could probably still phone in a change on the exhaust valve for the hollow stems but I really just wanna go with Richard's recommendation I think. He's extremely confident the valves are ideal as is. Pretty awesome when you have a vendor turning down extra sales in favor of choosing the right parts.

I'll get the engine together as soon as I can. I'm VERY anxious to see how it performs. I imagine the timeframe will be 4-8 weeks. I'll have the heads and lifters in a week, the cam this week. Richard is going through a few extra steps right now to perfect my port match to the Hi Ram intake. Really going above and beyond. One option right now is that he might create a CNC program that will open up the heads on a nice taper. I can't say enough about how awesome it has been to worth with WCCH so far.

I think your instinct to trust Richard is correct. Many years ago I did a CF thread with a pictorial walk through of his shop and equipment when the whole head controversy started. He and his shop are top notch and he has been there for decades. Waiting for him to inspect and repair as necessary my new GM performance heads being replaced on Vehicle1 warranty.

Definitely. Richard wanted to up the spring pressure from 655 to 765lbs. If it made sense to him then it makes sense to me. He's just a complete pro, very happy with how things have gone. Most people say great things about WCCH workmanship AND performance, and the All Pro heads are something they are very proud to offer as some of their best heads.

Default WCCH All Pro 290 High Res pictures

I picked up the heads from Richard last Friday. I'm very happy with how they turned out. Richard made the decision to up the spring rate and go with the PAC 1325, with about 250lbs seat and 765lbs open. Installed right at 2.000" height. Richard measured them at 260lbs which he said was typical of a new spring, and they "bag out" to 250 or so with a few miles on them. I'm especially happy with how the port match turned out, it blends very well with my Hi Ram but we'll see how things line up once the heads are bolted to the block.

I went with the 64cc chamber profile, which were milled 0.035" to a final volume of 60cc. So with only 35 thou milled off my engine accessories should be bolting up easier than my old heads that were milled like 60 thou. Small victory I guess.

Josh, what are the rocker arms? Did they come from All Pro or are they another make/model?

T&D steel shaft rockers, 1.8 ratio. I could have gone with aluminum which has similar performance, but doesn't have the longevity of the steel rockers. WCCH is not a T&D dealer so I bought through a T&D distributor, they drop shipped from T&D to my door...within 48 hours. I chose T&D because they have oil feeds to the shaft and the nose wheel, along with their reputation for quality and performance. ARP hardware, just really nice stuff.

I am possibly looking at their steel pedestal rockers, but don't know if they will clear my rocker covers. I know taller covers are available.

It is a big commitment to go aftermarket rockers. Springs, valve covers, clearance valve covers, coil relocate, pushrods, etc etc etc etc. Might as well go in and replace cam and get one setup for shaft rockers if you are going to drop $3k+ to convert.

I was over at Cunningham Motorsports on Monday and chatted with Ryne about the build. He told me he could do the tuning on the car at a local dyno, or street tuning, even though he is packing up his shop and his dyno and moving out of California. So I decided to work with Ryne on getting the tune set up for the car. I was under the impression that he wasn't taking on new jobs at all, but he can do my tuning, so it will be convenient to have him tune the car because he's local to me and he can support the tune afterwards remotely.

I don't think he's decided yet. But I think it's going to be a bigger city in Texas.

It certainly does!! Don’t ask me how I know...had to clean my intake manifold and replace all my plugs and o2 sensors. If ran long enough it will also plug up your cats. The problem causing compound is called MMT, a cheap octane booster. Don’t get me wrong, I love the majority of Torco products, but their octane booster is another story.

Switch over to Klotz and you’ll have no more buildup vs. Torco. With Klotz I run 4oz/gal to make CA91 into approx. 101 octane. It’ll also clean your fuel system and stabilize your fuel for over a year; but do NOT let it touch your paint.

My car will be going to CPR next month, engine block will go off to LME for forged bottom end and heads off to WCCH to be checked. If I have out of spec guides after 12K miles on the WCCH work in 2016, I need to consider alternatives. If the heads are OK then I will stick with what I have, I don't need more power but do want reliability.

Car is going in due to TI levels in oil samples (0 before the build) and lead at double what it was before the build in 2016. Also I had good compression but only OK leakdown in 2-3 cylinders.

Josh, I hope my questions and comments are OK here. I will probably start my own thread once things start showing up (or not) next month when the engine gets torn down.
