Very true, you could make the silicone reducer a semi-permanent attachment to the intake lid.

We have a Culvers in Prescott Valley, but that is quite a drive for Unreal. I haven't decided whether to enter the October NFZ 1/2 mile. Joe indicated my engine would be ready before that. No updates other than a picture of the empty engine bay.

More continued creativity on all your builds, Josh.

Josh, check out West System, it’s an epoxy but you can add fillers that they offer. I have used it on boats for years and it is very strong. It’s very expensive and may not work for your issue but it’s worth checking out.

They offer carbon fiber tape which would work well with their epoxy. Google West System carbon fiber and you fine it.

We have none of those...

We do have Teddy's (local chain) and The Counter though.

Lol, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. ;]

IMO, sell that LG intake and buy the Ram Air SS which is basically the ABS version. Or the fiberglass(?) version of your same intake.

It's a good thing

Nope nope nope, I gotta keep the carbon fiber, I'll spare everyone from the details of me cutting it up though, lol.

That Ram Air SS looks pretty awesome. The "hammerhead" one right? I just watched the youtube install video of it by 510 race engineering in 2013. Looks pretty interesting, and economical. I like that the LG has a dedicated airbox and scoop, and all that gorgeous carbon fiber. My silicone adapters arrived, the 6" to 5" one should be perfect as a semi-permanent addition to the LG tube. It seals against the intake where it needs to, which was a bit of a guessing game. To figure out the diameter of silicone I needed I measured the circumference of the oval then divided by π.

Got the fenders pulled off so I can do the coil relocations. Makes me feel better about working on the car without the fenders on there, always worried about cracking them. I pulled the headlights off too since I have the Morimotos ready to bolt in.

Thanks Mark, I'll learn more about this.

Josh, Does that Moroso heating pad run on 12v? I've only ever seen them with a 120v wall outlet style plug. I've always been interested in options to pre-warm the oil but haven't ever found a good solution.

It plugs into 120v, not 12v. It works awesome.

Flex Seal, I'm sold! Thanks, yeah I mocked up the new headlights and they look killer on the yellow paint.

after checking the prices on replacements made of oem carbon....wow yeah I wouldn’t want to damage them either. $4400 for a pair

what other panels are carbon besides the front fenders? Rear too? Geez. I need to be super careful now. Btw those black lights will look kickass on your Z

Yeah the fenders are stupid expensive. Just the fenders and floor panels are CF. The rest of the car is either urethane or SMC.

And your new hood. Are you leaving that new hood bare CF, or will you be painting it?

haha, true. I want to cut the hole in it, and have it painted to match. But everyone including my wife and the devil is telling me to just leave it CF.

Here's what I'm shooting for, but will take me awhile to get there...black headlights, wrapped top, maybe some ZR1 aero later on, but with Cup/Centennial wheels and maybe blue calipers (or yellow).

ZR1 CF aero along with CF roof and halo would look killer with your hood left as CF.

Making progress. Meziere EWP, hoses, belts, and Dewitt’s radiator are out.
