the new to me z06 is a 2007. from what i understand it has the t-56 trans. what is the torque rating on it? how much power will it handle?

i have found 600-700 lbs/ft for the tr6060. would that be a drop in replacement? and what about the 2007 diff.? how strong is that?

the clutch will have to go, as soon as i put on the blower.

thanks

Forum member "Unreal" has run a t56 with ~1000 hp on his FI C6Z...and he uses his car (~1300hp motor popped recently). He actually swapped in a tr6060, and has said many time he wished he kept his t56. How much power are we talking about here? If you're looking to slap on a S/C to a stock-ish LS7, you dont need a new trans.

Capacity depends on lots of variables, clutch, gross vehicle weight, traction, and yes input torque. Big power on the street, on street tires and you will most likely never break a box. Take that same big power to a race prepped dragstrip with slicks, prepped surface, and a hard launch....much shorter life.
