This is not exactly a road tripping kind of car and I wouldn't want to put the wear and tear of a road trip on something like this anyways. Lots of money spent for the purpose of going fast, not traveling the country in it. Everything has advantages and disadvantages no doubt.

Sadly big power and manual becomes such a **** show, you land up going auto and giving up on big power manual either way. When you go through a clutch and transmission every other race weekend, it becomes annoying. You need to get into some real exotic **** to have a manual live long term at "big power".

Here is a quick video of a couple of passes from the first test and tune session for the C6 Z06 with the new combo. This is the first time out with the car where I could play with a few things and make some changes. First pass in the video was done on 7 cylinders! Long story but a coil pack wasn't getting power at all, fixed the issue but go figure with more power I just spun the rest of the day. Need to tighten up the converter a bit from the looks of it but I'll take an 8.49 on 7 cylinders and 169 mph on all 8 spinning through 1st gear any day of the week.

Snuck in on another private track rental to get some more seat time and see how the converter changes work out. Fought again with an ignition issue and fixed it but then couldn't hook the rest of the day. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because these drag radials had quite a few street miles put on them and they are just plain heat cycled and worn out. Still set a new best in the heat with high DA but there is so much more room to go with good air and a clean pass all around.

It's hot outside and I've been busy mostly concentrating on other things but in the last couple of months I upgraded to some really comfortable Tillett seats that definitely look more at home in the car then the Kirkeys did. I also found an old school Halltech hood to put on to try to get rid of some of the heat under the hood and also get rid of some of the high pressure build up under there for aero. The last time out I was just battling ignition problems so I decided to give some stronger coils a try, well that and I'm pretty sure I screwed up the big throttle body by chopping the throttle over and over with wheel spin and all of this boost so I just went back to a stock one and that should take care of that.

Yup! They are so comfortable even with their minimal padding it's crazy. Way more comfortable than the kirkeys were and those had 5x as much padding or more.

Bent TB blade, or messed up the motor/electronics?

Motor/electronics, worked fine for a couple of track events but eventually would go into REP all of the time even just during a burnout at the last event. I think it was just too much pressure on the blade and forcing it around in there.

Car's been sitting for a while, too many other things going on in life taking up my time but here are a few changes... at the rate I'm going it's going to be a while but should make another 300 horsepower or so when turned up.

Yup! Precision Gen2 6870s.

Only problem is this reminds me of why I didn't want to go turbo in the first place, nothing fits or clears and I get to do a lot more work and my motivation has been in the toilet for several months now.

Been a long time since I updated this thread but since it made noise last night I figure it's time for an update! Finally made some initial pulls on it on the dyno to shake things down and see how boost was going to ramp, if there would be any creep, etc and I'm happy to say that it actually went really well. Just running it off of wastegate for now since I plan on switching to a Motec or Haltech eventually and don't want to spend the money on a boost controller for this, I want to run a 7 on the stock ECM first just to say I could. This is as low as it will go for now and the only way to go is up from here, there is probably another 200 rwhp or so in it with the boost turned all the way up on these turbos. Thanks to the crew at Cordes Performance Racing for finishing this thing up!
