Might have to make a trip out to Austin when she's done. LOL
I bought the TR6060 MH3 from Nathan, but I'll be matched to a 3.90 rear gear too.
I'll already be on ARH 2" , but hesitant to follow everyone into the Holley hi-ram world.
I might investigate a custom unit...maybe even a rear facing throttle body, as I have a domed mid rise hood on the car already that might be able to be configured as a "cowl induction" style hood

My bet is that all the guides are out of spec or close to being out.
I had to redo my WCCH guides with 31,000 miles/3yrs on them (car had 52,400 miles). Both intake and exhaust were wore worse then when I first did the heads when the car had 21,500 miles on it. I had removed the springs and checked every one of them (both times). This time around I went with AHP Moldstar guides. Both the stock intake and the solid SS exhaust valves were ok to reuse minus polishing.
Running a BTR Stage 3 cam (.652/.632) and stock rockers with Comp Cam trunion bearings. Now this time around using Yellow Terra rockers. Have put 6,000 miles on this set-up with no issues (now at 58,000 miles)
Using BTR Platinum .660 springs. I replaced them with the same even thou they tested within specs with the 31,000 miles on them, using a machine shop spring tester my shop neighbor has (he does engine machine work).
I do not track the car in anyway but do some spirited pulls to 7k (had the limiter set to that when tuned).
No ill feelings with WCCH, they were great to work with (also had cnc porting done) and had a great turn around time.

I know I've been joking around a lot about the hi ram lately, but I don't feel it's right for everyone. I surely don't want to be the reason someone regrets cutting up their car for the potential of subpar results. My results are my results. I don't know if it would have made close to the same power with the MSD and if so, would it have been faster? I decided to take the plunge and it worked for me. So many people are making the switch, it's crazy. I hope they get the results they are looking for. It's a huge commitment once you start that first cut.
Maybe you can modify the throat to somehow make it work as a cowl induction manifold. You can mount it forward or rear facing. Better yet, you might want to try the BTR version with the TB mounted below the plenum. You shouldn't have to cut your hood.
It's just good to see the hi-ram getting some light. More options out there for people, albeit it's on the more extreme end of the spectrum.

That would be awesome. I do remember that you bought his transmission.

Update - Deb e-mailed me that the heads have been disassembled, cleaned, and inspected...told everything looks great They expect Rich to begin the measurements today, so with any luck we should have some results today

The guide measurements results are in.
Intakes are fine, exhaust needs to be replaced....

I have a feeling there's going to be some type of comparison of this style of manifold in the not too distant future

For sure...I would like to see the comparison done on a "max effort" NA SBE 427 build...something that's in that ~620+ rwhp range with a ported MSD, where the MSD may be the limiting factor in the build....and then swap this thing in.

I'd be pretty pleased with those measurements. Interesting that your exhausts were pretty uniform, within 8 ten-thousandths. Intakes look great.
Not many other shops that even measure guide wear like WCCH does, let alone release their numbers after a 20k mile teardown. WCCH is amazing.

The new action plan can now begin in earnest ;-)

Great information, thank you for sharing. After having nearly the same combo as you for the past 20K miles I guess I will pull my heads this winter and send to Richard for a refresh. Like you everything seems to be fine thus far, but no sense in rolling the dice.
