Default Vararam intake installed incorrectly by p.o. HELP!

Anyone have instructions? Im assuming the hose part is backwards? It has worn through the hood mat to the hood itself. There is a check engine light that they said was caused by it being an aftermarket intake.

can't say they have it backwards, but the clamp on top could be the issue, plus should be at the end of the hose or the hose should have been trimmed to fit???? (is it so hard to line up the clamps and put them on the bottom ???) could need a tune(check engine light)

Sloppy install, and some hacking on the silicone couplers...especially on the TB side, but it looks correct. Just needs some adjustment...VR is not known for fit and finish. Whats rubbing, the coupler? If so, that can be trimmed back quite a bit on the bridge end.

What code is it throwing? That CAI does require a tune...has it been tuned?

I would just order some new silicone couplers (plenty of cheap online sources), and try to clean up that hack job.

Seems as if it’s trimmed in all the wrong spots here’s a pic of a better install.

OP’s intake is missing a worm drive clamp on the air bridge side as well. Get another clamp, and trim those couplers properly...

There are two clamps on each red sleeve. The screw isnt lined up with the other one so in one picture you can see it and on the other picture it looks like it blends with the metal.

This unit is over 10yrs old .
1. no texture 2. Sticker Logo 3. Old Red Bracket 4. Thandle latches

The unit is sitting too high. The red bracket has screws and rubber spacers that will allow you to alter the unit front to Rear and Up and down.
The hoses are installed incorrectly
Call us at 713-477-8100 and we can help
Thanks
