Default Drag radial tire pressure

I have been running my drag radials at 32 psi.
Traction is a problem in first and second gear. Is that to high?
also what do you guys keep your fronts at?

Way too high !!!
You didn't say what drag radial you are running, but I can tell you from my personal experiences Hoosier drag radials are happiest at closer to 20 lbs.
If you're running standard street tires for the front, whatever is recommended for the load rating. For racing events, I put maximum rated pressure in to minimize rolling resistance for acceleration events like 1/4 and 1/2 mile.

At least 10psi too much.

Depending on application, 12-18psi. I typically run ~14-15psi depending on conditions.

What size are you running? If you run them on a wide wheel with a short sidewall I wouldn't go lower than around 18 psi (warm). I would start in the 18-22 psi range and see how that works and adjust from there.

16-17psi seems to be the sweet spot for my Hoosier drag radials.

Just my opinion. Those tires are too everything. Too wide, too tall, too heavy, and way too much pressure.
Unless you have north of 550 whp, a Hoosier 275/40x17 on a 9.5" wheel at 18-20 psi. should be able to handle your launches just fine.

Start with 20PSI...then go down. Easy to let air out.

Sorry for the info, which was racing based. My assumption (probably like everyone else) was that the DR's were being used as designed, at the drag strip. If they're only for everyday street use, then 30 psi is fine. The previous 12-20 psi recommendations for the track, borders on dangerous for the street. If you lose traction on the street, just ease up on the throttle.

I would say start around 18 psi and adjust from there.
