Best bang for the buck racing seats?

Best bang for the buck racing seats?
I'm looking for insight on some options for a seat (or seats) that are good for track days...I'm tired of sliding around in the stock seat and using my knees to brace myself in corners!
I'm mainly looking for what could be best bang for the buck.. I'm ok with spending some money on a drivers seat or driver/passenger combo, but Im not looking to spend over $1500 or so. Cheaper the better!
I do not daily drive my car, so I'm ok with leaving a racing seat in there for long periods of time. Don't reclining seats cost a lot more? Are any seats direct bolt in or replacement with their own tracks? School me.
Im 5'11 and 185 pounds.. Looking for something that's decent quality and works. Any insight is appreciated guys.. Thanks

I have NRG seats. Comfortable enough for long drives for me. Only downside is the shoulder support area sits right on my door bar, but just about all seats this style would have that issue.

I also have a cheap NRG seat. It’s a good seat for the price, but... don’t expect it to be the quality of a $1200 dollar seat. It just isn’t. Your going to get what you pay for.
I would buy another if I were to do it again.

I am the same size as you and when I bought my seat, comfort for street driving was one of my main concerns. I got a used standard sized Sparco Pro 2000 and it was super comfortable for my physical size. I put in a slider which allowed easy access in and out, so that made it a lot more comfortable for getting in and out. . My harnesses were connected to a Brey Kraus bar but other bars are less expensive. I will say that when my wife no longer wanted me to track, I sold the seat, 5 pt Crow Harness and B. K. bar for $700. Three years later my wife gave me the green flag to track again, and I picked up a pair of used Cobra seats for $600. These are almost as comfortable and fit easily. This time around, I'm a bit more serious about driving the Z, so I chose to go with a safer slider on the driver's side. I think I paid $150 for a used Marrad slider. This is quite a bit stronger and safer than my first go which I think was a Recaro®. So I guess what I'm getting at is if you can wait another couple of months, there should be a number of used seats and accessories on the forum that will most likely show up and that way you'll save $. Just review pictures that will show the wear and tear on them. Good luck.

The Sparco Pro 2000/Evo II is technically 0.4" wider than the Corbeau FX1 seat I had installed, which rubbed and indented my driver's door panel. So I'm hoping to avoid that with my next seat, but the dimensions don't seem to make sense.

For 'bang for the buck', the Corbeau A4 reclining seat seems to be a good choice for the C6.
$1,026 for a pair which includes seat brackets and sliders .. with free shipping

As for me ... I ordered a set of Recaro Speed-V reclining seats for my GS ... But these seats are pretty pricey

Hey so I've actually gone thru a few racing seats since then lol. I got the Pro2000 and the fit for the car was perfect, but the shoulder harness cutouts were too low for my torso, especially when wearing a Hans. So I looked at the dimensions and saw that the new Grid Q was basically the same size, but with taller cutouts. So I've been running that for over a year now with no regrets! I moved the Pro2000 to my passenger seat, so at least I have a somewhat matching pair of Sparco seats now :-)

You won't use the electric seat mounts that came with your stock seats ... You will need manual seat mounting brackets that fit the aftermarket seats your buying and of course fit the four seat mount lugs of the C6.
And you will also need seat sliders if you want the seats to adjust fore and aft. Without the seat sliders, the seat will be fixed in one position.
It's up to you, but if your car is going to be used mainly as a street car, you really might consider a reclining seat.
