Default Carbon Fiber top

Have a question guys, seems like I have read somewhere the CF tops on the Zr1 are bad about squeaking which mine does when I hit a good bump. Anybody had this issue and are there any remedies?

Unlike on the standard C6 as you know on the Z06 & ZR1 the top is permanently attached (it's bolted on). Double check to make sure that the bolts holding the top on are tight because if they loosen up a little when you hit a good sized bump the chassis will flex slighly making the top moves a bit and you will get the squeeking that you are describing. Noticed the same with my track car too and ultimately after digging into things that's what the cause of it was.

How do you get at those bolts?
Pull the headliner?

Yes - pull the rear cover and slide the headliner back and out the trunk. They say not to reuse bolts but I think tjat is because they have loctite on them from factory. I do not believe they are TTY bolts.

"...pull the rear cover..."
Are you talking about the rear cargo shade or the hard trim on the underside of the halo bar?
