Back in a Vette, Sold the Viper.
After owning 11 Corvettes, I decided to try something different, bought a 2005 Viper SRT-10. After less than six months, sold it and bought another Vette. The Viper is BAD ***, people stop and take pictures, but damn...the thing is hard to drive. It's hot, rough as hell on the road, I can run over a dime and tell you what year it was! VERY fast, handled like a go cart but you give up drivability. Anyway, had fun with it and now I;m back to a vette. bought 2008 low mileage Z06 and glad I did. Save the wave....

Welcome back! Vipers are tempting, I'm partial to the second gen body style which is probably even worse on drivability. New Vette looks clean man! enjoy

Welcome back! I honestly thought you’d left for good after buying that beauty. I’ve always liked Vipers and they turn my head every few times I see one, but I daily drive my Z. Glad you returned and congrats on your 08Z06.

have not met that many people that say they absolutely love their gen iv.
now gen v owners on the other hand, hard to not see they hiding the five eigths of wood they have when they get out of the car.

They are Awesome and fun to drive, short range trips only! With the top down the car is 10 times more enjoyable. With the top up, it's so loud, hot and cramped that you feel like your on a roller coaster...fun for a short time but terrable after and hour or so. No cruse control, no climit control, stereo sucks, and it drinks gas like a horse drinks water! But if you can afford to have a vehicle sitting in your garage just for short, fun drives, it's much more than a vette will ever offer, My Z06 I just bought has headers, full exhaust, no cats, cold air intake and a tune, so it runs very good, but the numbers lie...The Viper feels much stronger and pulls like a freight train. I have learned, torque seems to be more impressive than just HP. But I still like the Z06 better, more comfortable, climit control, cruse, stereo, heads up display and better on gas. PLUS much better for trips and daily driving.

The Z weighs much less and puts down approx same dyno’s numbers stock give or take 10ish rwhp.
That viper appearance is hard to bet and turns heads like crazy. A 2014 viper will prolly break necks. Thanks for the pics and comparison. Welcome back

I own a 97 B/W Viper TT and 08 JSB Z with headers and cat back. I love them both and have driven both as much as 10 hours with fuel stops only, which is frequent in the Viper due to thirst and small tank. The Viper gets about 19-20 mpg on the hwy, the Vette 27. I average about 20-21 combined in the Vette and Mr Viper is around 9-14 depending on how mature it is used. The Vette is easily the most versatile and usable car. The Viper is a special experience not for everyone. If they were women one would be a wife the other a half drunk stripper...

Welcome back to the world we call Corvette (Z06). I must admit I have considered selling my Z for a Viper a few times. I have a friend who currently owns two.. One if them is the GenII blue, white striped one... He recently sold his GENV for a GENIV... I have driven his black GenV and REALLY liked it... As much as I drive my Z ( 5K per yr) I could justify a GENV...but, I have much love for my 600wheel 08Z.... It too turns heads, people video it on their iphones going down the highway, I always get "the look" when gassing up. In summary the Z06 is a much better, more appealing car for the reasons stated above.

After a little google search the viper dyno’s around 440ish that particular yr model if I’m not mistaken, it weight 3410 tho.

I don't believe in the numbers game. HP, Torque, weight are all going to produce numbers on paper.....But unless you have owned a certain car, driven on roads, track, mountains and so on, the numbers seem to go down the drain. My Z06 is fast, I have had two C5 Z's, fast as well. I had a 15 C7 Z51 and it too was fast, but they all drive different, the Viper point blank, is the fastest car I have owned, but speed is not everything. The Z06 drives better than my C7, about the same speed but the C7 is not a compfortable as the C6Z. The Viper is the best car for a track or ***** out run, but I'm glad to be back in a Vette for so many reasons. Thanks for your input.
Not trying to bust your *****....enjoy your faster car.
