Ever own a Ferrari?
Have any Corvette owners had a Ferrari and what were your impressions. Don’t want to start a bashing thread here just curious.

Nope never owned one but drove a 599 Ferrari at one of those exotic car experiences before and it was well mannered street beast that had top notch interior, oh that leather!

I've driven quite a few: 308 (couldn't fit), 360 Modena & Spider, California, 430, 458 Italia (track), 488.
They're a blast to drive, especially the newer models. So much character but they can be incredibly finicky and high maintence.

I have a few friends that are/were Corvette owners as well as having a Ferrari in the fleet.
SmallBlk400 (A.J.) had a 355 Spyder 6 speed manual car, but maintenance cost were pretty high on it. He had an aftermarket exhaust on it that sounded wicked !!!
I'm not sure if Glenn is still on this board, but he currently has a 360 hardtop with his twin turbo C5.
Another friend is an exotic car reseller here in town and has a California in his inventory that he's been driving (he's also the Ariel Atom dealer )
Let me know if you have an interest in talking to them about F car ownership and their personal experiences with several models, and I'll get in touch with them to see if they'll give you some pointers and such

Almost pulled the trigger on a clean, low mileage F355 Spider several years back. Still to this day, one of my favorite looking F-car's. They're certainly worth more today than when I was looking to get one, but the maintenance on that car was outrageous to me. I would definitely want to be able to do as much of the wrenching on that car as I could myself.

You know, by federal law, that NO SheDevil is allowed any closer than 500' to any Ferrari, and it's strictly forbidden for you to even own one !!!

Shedevil.... Must be a pussycat fan. When we give southern Arizona back to Mexico that won’t be an issue anymore.😏
A 360 is what I would be interested in, a 430 and newer is more than I’m willing to spend. I’ve been a Corvette and Ferrari fan since I was a little kid and so far have had Corvettes.

I was going to buy a 430 after driving a freind`s and pining over one when they first hit market. Couldn't stomach the maintenance though and got the Z06 instead. Damn fun to drive, but I kinda like driving the Z more, at least in some regards. If I was wealthy, I'd have several F cars.

I've been passed by only two cars this whole year on the track. Steve (Racingswh) in his Viper ACR-E and a Ferrari 488 Challenge car with a 670hp turbo V8 spinning to 8k+ rpms. Looked just like this one. Amazing cars.

I want to like them but the dash being open between the footwells just feels pickup truck like to me and I also must have a manual transmission in my toy car which rules most of them out. While I'm probably the minority I also prefer a front engine car I just think they look better.

Was very interested in a F-430 Spyder years ago. Joined the Ferrari Forum, posted my question on maintenance and upkeep. The best advice I ever got was "If you can't afford two of 'em, don't even buy one."
So, I bought my 2013 C6 Z06 for half the price of a F-430 Spyder instead.

I've had a few Ferraris and Corvettes and still have a 355GTS in my garage along side my C6 ZR1. Love them both and feel like they are both "best of their breeds" Different driving experiences to be sure but a lot of folks like both white wine and red wine!
Newer Ferraris require more visits to the dealer where the pre-1996 cars can be worked on and maintained by handy owners.

Agreed...I would need a whole different garage/shop setup to make that work for me. The 360 is far less invasive as far as scheduled maint is concerned, but I never cared for the looks of a 360. A 355 spider or a 430 would be ideal for me...but I also like the 550/575 Maranello.

Worked on a whole sh*tload of 308s,with the obligatory test drive after the service.
Never got to drive a Daytona, but did drive a 512BB. It was stunning...
Planned to buy a 308GT4 when they were down around $20K, They about doubled while I was looking, and not worth that to me.
308s are super durable and pretty straightforward to work on.
Newer ones, I'd avoid the F1 trans... but other than that, I'll bet they're less wretched to work on than a new BMW.
And you thought Corvette parts were stupidly expensive...
