Default RPM VI T-56 or VII TR6060

Next year I plan on finally building my drivetrain. This may or may not seem a dumb question but I have an 06 Z06 and was trying to figure out if I should go built T56 or pay however much it is to convert and get a built TR6060.

Thanks

Depends on what you're doing. If you have plans on 900+ whp then go 6060; if not go T56

You should check out Tick Performance. Much cheaper than RPM and just as good.

I can’t say enough of how awesome Matt at Tick Performance has been, dudes went way above and beyond what I’d consider great customer service! Eli is also solid hit them up you won’t regret it. Couldn’t tell you either way on which to use, seems like the rest of the forum has you covered though. I just can’t say enough good things about all my I interactions with Tick🇺🇸

I have a 2006 C6Z. I asked the same question about the T56 or TR6060. Many people warned that the "T56 shifts better, TR6060 is notchy". I wanted a performance 5th gear and that would have been difficult to achieve with the T56, so I went with an RPM Level VI TR6060 with C5Z gearing. I love the new trans, it shifts absolutely incredibly, no notchiness, just effortless shifts that make regular drivers into amazing drivers.

Don't overthink it like I did. Get the TR6060. You'll spend around $5k if you give them your core T56. Customer service is amazing. Call up Jeremy Jones and get a quote.

Did you stay with the factory gear ratio in the rear end?

More or less, you have to fab up something for cooling.

I have a T56 built built to level 5 and has a C6Z06 mainshaft and C5Z gears; shifts awesome and not notchy at all, no way you're missing a gear with the way it shifts.
Also has stage 3 C6Z diff.

I've heard that the 6060 doesn't shift as good but every one I've tried shifted fine. T56 is a little lighter so there may be some power gains there.

Are 5th and 6th paired together the way 1-4 are or are they individually selectable?

Pretty sure they are paired, like I got a .84 5th but they could only give me a .56 6th because of this, whereas I wanted the stock .50 6th.

interesting, .56 is a lot more useful as a 6th than .67 at least

.80/.50 sounds perfect, I'll have to look into that.
