so is the car running and off the jack stands now?
could it be excess that was sitting in the bell housing and after it was taken off jack stands/moved the oil is running fwd out of that little area??
Nope, Car is currently on jacks high up at a sharp angle torn apart since I only can work on it during the weekends. Timing cover still hasn't been put on and none of the pan bolts have been torqued except the two big ones that bolt the pan and the bellhousing. The other pan bolts are "snug".
dude i swear to god LOL its testing my patience right now. I mean we BARELY pried on the pan to pull the oil pump out and we didn't even pull it out all the way.. just to see the stupid tick. I mean i haven torqued anything down besides the two rear oil pan bolts so maybe there's a chance? but then again it was worth it cause i rather do a new gasket than a new engine for not checking the timing
Maybe it’s because it’s not torqued down all the way. Oil could just be sweeping possibly due to the angle of the car on jacks? I’d agree with Stolen and clean the area torque it down. Reclean and see if it seeps still. Keep us updated hoping for a good outcome

Gonna do this saturday so thanks for the good hopes! Hopefully its just that. Your name isn't Jesse is it?
i just did this last weekend and didnt have any issues getting the pump off and then back on. its just important that you get the gears in the oil pump in the correct location before sliding it back on. that is what makes a world of diff IMO.
the cam retainer torqx bolts are what fought me till then END lol
1 out of the 4 came out no problem....the other 3 had to be drilled out and it was a horrible experience. took 5 hrs to get to he retainer plate, and entire day to get the the cam out after running around getting bolt extractors and prepping the front to ensure that no metal shavings get inside the oil pan/engine.
I had the EXACT same problem last weekend. I ended up cutting a cross in the bolt heads with a dremel and used a 4lb hammer and chisel to get them to unscrew out. Cut up the retainer plate in the process but I picked one up from BTR for 11 bucks. well worth it. Just plug all holes before cutting, especially at the oil pan. I spent plenty of time cleaning with a microfiber and checking with a magnet afterwards.
