It ain't the prettiest looking thing I've seen...but it would throw all kinds of air at your motor.

This... I really think this type of setup would help. This guy did tons of work and testing with it. I think with a build this expensive you might as well try it.

There is also this, although I doubt it would fit under most hoods:

Not even close...taller than a hi-ram. Wont fit any hood, cowl, etc.

Looks identical to the carbon XR

Just sit back and enjoy and wait for Victor and others to do some testing.

So what is anyone’s input on this extensive port job on the intake I’m bout to be testing as well as the 108MM throttle body. The whole entire runner was ported and opened up as well as the top of the intake in the bottom of the intake with that was smooth over and inlarged the intake inlet as well as to match opening to match the 108MM throttlebody. I’m hoping 20rwhp

It’s hard to tell from the pictures but can you remove the ridges from top on the runners at all? And smooth the outside of the runners too. Looks good tho.

I don't know why, but I just hate that design of the screw all the way through the intake with a nut on each end.

Just have to watch on those Harrop / Kinsler / Jenvey ITB runner intakes you can have other issues. Most were designed around (or copied from) class racing with smaller engines and restrictors so they have longer than MSD runners as well as smaller ports. I believe the Harrop has at least 2 or 3 versions and they as well as Jenvey have bigger TB's now that would work way better, just have to watch runner length or you might have an engine peaking under what it does now.

MTP got it...that is a Carbon XR. It's an EXCELLENT LS7 manifold! However, they're adamant that it will not fit in late model corvettes. I've even emailed their tech department to try and figure out why/where/how it doesn't fit because I want one that bad. They won't even return my email. Apparently, it's THAT bad.

EDIT: People cut their hood for Hi-ram's...I can't understand why Carbon XR thinks corvette guys won't go extreme.

We'll find out soon enough... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r-install.html

The Carbon TR would seem like a better choice to "make it fit". But it is ~$7K

do you have before and after measurements of the work? Other than shortening the runners (which will move peak further to the right and adds plenum volume), I don't see how you can make much more power. You need a lot of plenum volume to feed that monster. The MSD isn't going to give you that.

Thanks!

He told me that after getting the HPTuner update for the Southways 108 TB, the car made about the same power on either the 102 or 108 throttle body.
The car made 675+ , which is 5 RWHP deviation from his last dyno......but who knows if that was related to the additional manifold porting or just a simply tire pressure or strapping difference.
I believe he is using the PAC 1209X with the Johnson Short Travel ST2126LSR lifters.

Thank you for sharing.

5RW is well within the margin of difference due to weather, straps, tire pressure, etc.

I think this test needs to be ran again, with a more controlled set of changes made before any statements could be made as to exactly what is doing what.
