Default GSpeed HPR 468 dyno results [and video]

Original Build thread:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ace-setup.html

This engine was built for a few reasons, one of which was for NASA TT/ST competition. The car it was slated for had a functioning LS7 in it, and its purpose changed from a NASA car to an SCCA car mid summer, and the 468 was no longer legal. We know a lot of you have been awaiting the results for this engine, and we finally had the opportunity to do so.

As (bad) luck would have it, our customer and fellow competitor Troy Messers #176 NASA TT1 car had a coolant anomaly that we could not solve. The engine ran well, but it had a case of the "self filling" drysump tank which we have seen in the past, yet a 100psi on the block did not leak and we were out of time. NASA Nationals was less than a week away, and trailer load in and setup was 72 hours away.

In steps the 468. Its been on the shelf for several months awating its turn, quietly whispering "put me in coach" all season. This engine is special to us for several reasons, so it needed to be under constant supervision, or data analysis to verify plugs, lambda, and tune up are all as intended.

You can read about Troys car here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...equential.html We did not finish the thread, perhaps when things settle down that will happen.

With out further adieu- Dyno sheet:

Tune up specs-
Motec M150 controlled, Development ECU with GPRP based Paddle shift control
.89 target lambda
22*ignADV peak tq, 27* peak power
NGK TR7 plug
MS109 fuel
MSD intake
NW102
4" inlet with bellmouth
17/8 headers, 3" catbcak

Notes: Crank case pressure was still less than ideal- engine has a 3 stage dailey drysump and the motec recorded .25 psi peak crank case pressure. This combo was slated for a 5 stage, but time did not allow anything but the already fitting 3 stage. There is 15hp in crankcase vacuum.

Emco sequential gearbox robs rwhp in the range of 20 at the least to 30 at the most. We see this time and time again on all the cars we work on as they must be dyno certified for NASA. We plan to redyno with an H Pattern before the end of the year.

For this power, we are very happy given the circumstances. We can bench race it to death, but it will make over 700rwhp with a better driveline and some crankcase vacuum. for what its worth, it maxed out the OEM injector at 5000 rpm. We all know what a stock injector can make, and when it was all said and done the ID850s were roughly 50% idc. We tried to change injection timing, but it didnt pick up power. We will experiment with larger injectors and less injector duration next time.

We have a lot more cool projects in the work trying to make the legitimate 700rwhp club more popular. Thanks for Tuning in, yall are the reason we do stupid stuff like this

Gentle marine hydraulic. Nothing exotic, nothing you would not consider hopping in and driving cross country in.

Sorry. I may have missed it, what manifold do you have on that motor??

Can you disclose how much overlap that cam has? How about the c.r. .. can you share that?

it has a stock untouched MSD.

Camshaft overlap 30ish*

compression is 11.5ish. It’s designed to run on 93 pump fuel.

Good grief. A rowdy NA cam, a decent intake manifold, 2 points more of compression, and some E85 and I'd be in love.

Congrats on the solid results Louis! It's been an awesome build to follow along with. So much more potential with this platform should you decide to go after more with it.

Awesome the numbers. They are in the process of building my 468 but we are shooting for a max naturally aspirated street car. Goal is 725rwhp

Very nice work guys. Keeping in mind it's a stock intake, smallish headers, hyd roller with no more than 0.650 lift that could be ran in a daily driver and still pound out a winning TTU lap at NASA nationals....I'd say it did very well.

Say it isn't so Louis.... The MSD hasn't been MAMOFIED.....?
Shot in, Shot out... Great Job Louis! Keep it up... Will I see you again at the upcoming WGF event?

There are more 468's in process now both for retail customers and Louis, all with slight changes to them so we should start to see a good bit of published results. Jeremy's build should be nice as well with a bigger lift hyd roller and custom intake manifold. Maybe even a High Ram 468 in process too from Louis?!?

I think this puts into perspective just how much more average power the HPR 468 really makes over most stock and H/C/I 427's.

Stock LS7 data pulled from a few posted here online, DynoJet SAE corrected
LS7 H/C/I pulled from a few posted on CF again using DynoJet SAE correction with typical bigger headers, MSD, 102, higher compression.....some have made more, most less.
