Smell after driving car ???
Does anyone notice that after driving their car say sitting in the garage gives off a smell not necessarily a burning smell but kind of smells hot maybe the best way to explain it. I had a 2006 Z06 and now have a 2013 427 vert. and it appears that they both have the same issue. I am just trying to see if anyone else experiences this as well and if this is normal. Is is just due to being the big 427 v8 motor?

Swap out that OE x-pipe for a Corsa x-pipe to eliminate the two extra cats that your '06 didn't have, and maybe some of that "hot smell" goes away.

Just make sure it isn't a fuel smell.. There is a history of leaking fuel pumps - just something for others to watch out for (I don't believe you would be so unlucky as to have two cars with that problem).

Funny, i had the same problem since the car was new. Burning plastic, rubber smell, around driver side rear wheel well. I have numerous times checked the underneath, even the backs of mufflers for stickers, cannot find a thing. Maybe the rubber exhaust hangers? Next time i have to look at those, even maybe the starter solenoid area which is plastic and gets lot if heat. After 7 years it is still a mystery.

Hmm. My car never had that smell until after I added a cam an got it tuned. Now it does get that hot smell. No oil leaks, I have crawled under an checked. I wonder if higher exhaust temperatures are the culprit? I still have factory manifolds and cats, but have an X-pipe.
