Default Anyone have a motorcyle?

Is anyone into motorcycles in addition to their Corvette? If so, show us what you have parked in the garage with your Corvette and what bikes you are into. I recently purchased a BMW S1000R. It gives me another performance option other than my Vette to have fun with. The Corvette is fast, but no match for this bike. Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone was into bikes and what they had of they were, and add some comments. I find riding to be an adrenalin rush and just fun - like driving the Corvette. Understandably, bikes are more dangerous and you have to be careful. I'm getting older and my riding days will be over before I know it, but want to enjoy it while I can.

57 year old guy. 2008 Z and 2009 Ducati Monster 1100cc. I enjoy both but very fearful of other motorists in their SUV and connected devices while riding the bike. Not nearly as fast as your BMW but very satisfying and a unique experience. Ride until you no longer have a valid license.

Great response. I'm 62 and have a bike that does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. I just love riding a fast bike, but do it with discretion. The way I have reduced risk is to ride on Sunday morning early in my area where we have some quite roads and some winding country roads where there is undeveloped land and rural areas. Never ride in traffic, on busy road or highways. I have a 2006 Z parked behind it. I have a friend who has a big BMW touring bike and he has gotten older (mid to late 70s) and he quit riding his bikes 4-5 years ago. They just sit in the garage. Tough getting older and giving up things you love to do.

gave up street bikes and switched to dirt about ten years ago.

i wish some bro would have told me to buy a dirtbike instead of a street bike when i was eighteen. dirt is so much better. i have done both, and i still think railing ruts is better than dragging knees.

i might get a grom though, i think they are cool.

KTM guy here, offroad only (MX and adventure riding) for 25yrs. I'd love a street bike, but as mentioned above, I'll avoid getting killed by some idiot in a Prius taking a selfie.

One of my favorite riding spots from a few years ago.

Same spot with a new bike and truck.

A couple of my best riding buddies.

This is for when I just can't find the time to get in the dirt. Dirt riding beats the street everyday.

I had a cammed, ported head, pipe, ect. 2006 ZX10 that put 176 to the rear wheel. I sold it about a year ago. It would hurt my shoulder an back to ride it. I do think about getting a Harley Street Glide.

I have owned more motorcycles than Corvettes. My last one was a Kawasaki Z-1100. A couple of years ago, I decided I needed another motorcycle and I had never owned a Harley-Davidson. I went to the H-D dealer and swung my leg over a 1200 Sportster. The arthritis in my seventy year old hips hurt so much, I got off and decided my motorcycle riding days were over for good.

I also had a 2006 ZX10R and sold it in May of this year. I never rode because of what you said - it was so uncomfortable with the low bars and the heavy clutch. There was pressure on my wrists and low back hurt after a while. It was just beastly. That is why I moved into naked bikes - they have a more comfortable and upright riding position without much sacrifice in performance. They are also tuned more for the street vs the track. I wanted a nimble, fast, light and comfortable bike. You should look into a naked bike. Never been a Harley guy.

Just sold my Electra Glide Classic. Rode all my life and thought I'd never be without one. 63 years old now and as mentioned above too many azzholes not paying attention anymore.

Thinking this thread will be moved by a mod soon enough, but I'll play..

I too have owned more motorcycles than Corvettes, all of them as fast or faster.

Started off with a '92 CBR600F2, then a '94 CBR600F2, on to a '95 CBR900RR, then a '98 GSXR750R, then a 2001 GSXR1000R, and in parallel a 2005 CB919F (street fighter).

Road raced for about 12 years, then instructed for 3.. Sold the street bike, race bike hasn't been started in a few years..

Riding on the streets in metro ATL is just short of a death wish, some of the worst drivers (I've lived in quite a few different states).

i do miss track riding, and I do miss blasting through and over the Seirra Nevada mountains at 150 mph.

Was seriously thinking about selling a few things and picking up a 2018 or 2019 GSXR1000R..

I own a 99 softail custom, I only road three times this year. A riding freind and his wife got in a terrible accident this summer. A truck turned in front of them, the bumper caught her left leg and tore it right off just below the knee. They both had very serious injuries, so now I'm kinda thinking about getting rid of it, but I love to ride... Be careful guys.

Had a bunch of sport bikes. Still have a 03 RC51 I bought new out of the crate. Stopped riding on the road a few years ago too much texting and driving.

Have had more bikes than Vettes. Started in the ‘60s with a 42 HD, followed by a ‘54 HD. Many since. Currently at my age have opted for a Gold Wing / Motor Trike. Have to admit age/comfort have me riding bike much less and driving C-6 more.

Currently have 3. Been riding since I was 6, and 46 years later I still love it but definitely worry about my body more now and the potential for being creamed by someone texting and driving their 3 ton auto!! Still love it though!!
