Default 66 and still...

I'm 66 , In the last 3.5 months I've rode my 2010 Kawasaki Concours 1400, 165 hp and exceptionally fast.. 4600 miles,... .3000 miles Fl to Arkansas mountains and back in 6 days total, and then up to the Blue ridge, around Cherokee...1600 miles in 4 days, I ride very fast usually...my eyes are good as are my reflexes. but I need my perco's ...my back is horrible...I have my handlebars and seat set up perfectly for 10 hour days in the saddle, The big fat Connie is an awesome fast ride...at 11 I was on a 3.5 hp briggs and Stratton mini bike...at 14.5 yrs old I got my Da to buy me a 1964 305 Honda superhawk scrambler, used, $495 out the door...I still walk into that dealer here in Tampa with the same family owners...Cahills. then a 650 Triumph Bonneville , then, the only new bike I have ever bought of the 30 I have owned, In Ocala Fl a brand new 1974 Kawasaki Z1B 900,,state of the art ..$2400 out the door...awesome machine back in the day.....Can't wait to pick up my dream car this Friday...a 2000 triple black C5 Z51, FE3 coupe 6 MT, only 19k miles, its the proverbial granny car...seller is 73 yr old gal...woohoo...!!!! Sold my automatic C5 2004 mint gem last yr.....

I have concluded that we all like bikes and age may be a factor that determines an appropriate time to ride less, same with driving. I am certain that I will know when I pose a threat to my fellow motorist and will leave the driving/texting to another generation. In addition to my Ducati I have a 1973 BMW R75 "Toaster Tank" and an XR 150 Honda dirt bike that I also enjoy. In my lifetime I have owned over 50 motorcycles, mostly dirt bikes. You don't have to race everywhere you go to enjoy this, that old BMW has drum brakes and a kick starter!!! You know what? I have a blast going slow on that old thing and feeling the nostalgic nuances that new bikes have eliminated. Like the thread starter I carefully choose my roads and time to ride and prefer a naked bike. The Honda is just a hoot but I tend to ride above my skill level and sometimes find myself scraped up. Old folks tend to heal slower I have discovered....

Cool looking bike. I see it's a MV Agusta. What model, motor size and HP? Love naked bikes. I started out with sport bikes, but as I got older I wanted more comfort and upright riding position, so switched to naked bike.

I've got matching 06 gsx-r1000s. 1 for the street and 1 for the track. Agree with most of the others here, street riding isn't much fun anymore. People pay no attention to bikes and Indiana roads are garbage.

Yeah I heard that. It was butter smooth the last time they did it. Got rid of the rumble strips between turn 1 n 2 so u could really carry some speed. Love that track! Love that zx-10 of urs too. Had an 05 for awhile

I had a Ducati Monster as well but sold it after being so sick of drivers so distracted on their cell phones, it’s not worth my life .
