Default Got my Forgeline wheels + seller review

After selling my GS wheels and tires, the hunt was on for a new set of wheels and shoes. Was going to do a MRR 755 wheel but really wanted a forged wheel and had talked myself into tossing out a huge amount of coin for a new set of Forgelines.

Well, I didn't need to do that as I came across a set of CF3C Forgelines being sold by DaveVette91 (he had an ad here), got in touch with him and within a week or so got them in my hands for a great price.

Now this set of Forgelines wasn't my first choice but it was too good to pass up. I was also a bit concerned as I usually don't buy many parts used but after chatting and texting with Dave (almost 200 texts back and forth) I felt assured that I could send him the money and get the wheels I paid for.

Dave was great as a seller, fast communication and he did a great job packing up the wheels for shipping to my Buffalo location for me to pick up. These wheels weren't perfect and they needed some minor TLC (seller had made that known in his ad).

Unfortunately, a spoke on one wheel did get a scratch which I can only speculate was caused by his tire changer guy (he had to dismount the rear tires from the wheels before shipping), this scratch was not on any of the pics shown in the ad. I notified Dave after getting them home and sent him some pics and without hesitation he offered to paypal me back a small amount, I took his offer and will get that wheel refinished.

So far I've cleaned them up, buffed the outer polished lip and got them looking almost like new (I would say they ranked a 7 out of 10 when I received them and now got them to a 8.5). I also got my tires sitting in my basement with the wheels and will head to my tire place in a couple weeks to get them mounted and balanced. I'm so looking forward to getting them on the Z next spring.

These wheels are 19x10"F and 19x12.5"R with an aggressive concave center and optimized offset for a more flushed look to the body of the car. The tires are PS4S 275/30/19F and 325/30/19R.

To sum it up, the seller was great and totally stand up guy!!!!!

Tony

This is totally unscientific, I weighted myself on my bathroom scale then again holding a front wheel and rear wheel.

I got 26 lbs. for the 19x10" front wheel and 28lbs. for the 19x12.5" rear wheel.

I don't think this particular Forgeline wheel is one of their lighter versions of forged wheels compared to their other rims.

That's why I like simple 5 spoke design wheels.

I took 2 wheels out to the garage and did a test fit, obviously they were on Dave's ZR1 so they would fit my car no problem. Before I bought them I wasn't sure on the 19" front wheel size with the smaller Z06 rotor but after putting the front wheel on it looks fine (nothing I hate more than huge wheels on cars with tiny rotors behind them so you get all that extra dead space between the circumference of the rotor/top edge of caliper and the inside barrel).

I was told that the center was done in a titanium colour but having it out there to compare with my GA1R's on the Shelby done in Transparent Smoke finish the center of the CF3C's look like they are done in the same TS colour...……………...love it!!!!!!

Anyways, here's some pics, sorry for the bad angles of the shots, GT500 is in storage also in the garage and with both cars in there space is a bit tight.

Update: wheels dropped off at the refinisher place, they will get cleaned up (all the nicks and scratches on the outer lip will be polished out), the center sections done also (especially that 1 spoke that has the bad scratch on it).

They should look like new when finished (I want them to be close to the ranking of 10 as much as possible).

Pics coming after they are done and tires will be mounted up also on them.
