Any C6Z near St. Louis, MO with a mild cam? BTR Stage 2?
I've been looking at getting a BTR Stage 2 cam for my 09 Z06, but wanted to see if anyone around here has similar specs.
I'd like to see the driving manners. Something like a ride-along, or maybe even let me cruise around a parking lot would be awesome.
I'm debating the Stage 3, but if driving manners are at the top of my list, it might make more sense to stay smaller.
I posted this in Regionals too, but I don't know how many people go there.
If that's not cool with the rules, just take this down! (sorry)

I went from a Katech Torquer 116 to the BTR Stage III and I can honestly tell you it drives extremely well. The first custom dyno tune I got and had horrible driving around characteristics, but great at wide open throttle. Once I got it re-tuned by PCM of North Carolina the day to day driving became great! I would not go any more aggressive than the stage III and in my opinion its a good all around cam.

Any surging or bucking around with the stage 3?
I'm thinking highway cruising at 65-70 in 6th, or low rpm in a parking lot?
Still pretty conflicted between stage 2 and 3. I'll be daily driving the car pretty much all the time unless there's a chance for snow.

My DD is 08 C6z06 with BTR STAGE III. I get a little surging when under around 1,300 rpm ( normally when driving cold, leaving my development early in the morning). Car runs great I recommend STAGE III.

lugging the motor with large cams just doesnt work (not good for it either)
If youre willing to change driving habits & maybe even re gear youll love the larger ones hard to have your cake & eat it.
Then there is supercharging...

I have the BTR II in my Z06 and it drives extremely well. I can go 50 in 6th at around 1100 RPM without any real surging. I do agree with others that you don't want to overcam the car. The labor cost of swapping cams (unless you're doing it yourself of course) plus the cost of a tune is pretty expensive.
According to some research (please correct me if I'm wrong. It has been a while), the BTR III is worth about 10-15 HP more than the BTR 2. I'll take the near stock drivability over an additional 10-15 HP. Good luck with your decision!

Look for dyno results of the cam that you are considering, and see where it makes it's power. Go with a cam that has the correct lobes for it's actual intended use. Lot's of 116 cams from Katech and AHP with proven dyno results. Do your research and you can actually pick your own specific duration and LSA.
