New World Record. First and Only 8sec N/A Stick Shift Z06
Yes it happened. A 8sec pass in an All motor naturally aspirated LS small block. And happened on its second pass!! I dont know where to start!
First and Only 8 second N/A stick shift Z06 in the world!!!
Last season we struggled a lot and didn’t manage to make a complete pass. If you guys have been following this build, we were still running all original 5year+ stock parts. So last season on the 1st event we broke the stock axles. Upgraded them but second time out we broke the rear factory Differential. Upgraded the Differential and 3rd time out and last we broke the factory Transmission. So no successful passes all last season sadly.
What you guys don’t realize is how hard it is to be able to source parts overseas. A normal race in the US you would brake an axle, drive 10-15mins to any part store or dealership and get a replacement, while for us it takes 2 weeks minimum. So even a simple thing that brakes makes us stop racing for weeks. Plus the fact that we don’t have open track test n tune nights. Last 2 years we had a total of about 7 drag racing events where you get a chance to test your car in the testing and qualifying runs. So that makes it even harder for us to test and get familiar with the setup and adjust accordingly. While in the US you can race every weekend if you wish to. Sure some states less than others but still you can drive few hours to any close tracks. Anyway enough excuses!!! Now to some details.
It is still the exact same motor not a single thing have changed.
507 cubic inch Small block LS engine. Built completely by Mohammed Aldashti at Garage Alkooor, and Kandri Corvette original owner of the car. Those guys did an amazing job with the engine build.
We got an RHS block with Lunati Power Crankshaft, Callies Performance Products connecting rods, and some custom Diamond Pistons.
Mast Motorsports Mozez heads and intake
A custom solid roller camshaft designed by Brian Tooley @ Brian Tooley Racing and Kip Fabre @ Cam Motion that is under 850 lift!!! Those two did an amazing job with the cam and big improvement from our previous cam especially limited to standard small lifters.
Jesel Valvetrain Rocker arms and Lifters along with a combination of Manton and Steward Performance pushrods. Along with all ARP hardware and Cometic Gaskets.
A RPM Transmissions built stage 4 diff and TR6060 package with Driveshaft Shop Aluminum Driveshaft, couplers and mounts.
A 2 year old Mantic Clutch Triple disc that is handling the little abuse pretty well!!
Complete stock suspension
Strange Engineering complete light weight brake system that is doing an awesome job stopping us after the finish line.
American Racing Headers 2” Headers with Race X pipe
Mark @ Carlyle Racing for the chute kit, wheels and other misc parts
And Finally and Most Important
Tuners Ali Kafoud and Mansour Ameen and their magic using Professional EFI Systems Inc. pro128
Car have been Built by V2 Performance and some help recently by Five Motorsports to finish it off.
All Staff and Team at Qatar Racing Club - Al Anabi Team For a great event and Track prep.
And Kings Edwin and Mohamed Ibrahim for the awesome photos/Videos and Editing. As always awesome work my friends.
Now to some details on passes.
1st pass we clicked a 9.15@143.14mph with a 1.41 60ft times letting off before the finish line. Super easy shifting as we are having what we believe hydraulic issues that we will address soon.
2nd pass we decided to adjust the tune a bit, launch it a bit harder and it happened. 8.98@157.95mph with a 1.32 60ft times making it the worlds Quickest and Fastest stick shift N/A Z06. Still really easy shifting as you can see in the video.
Keep in mind I haven’t driven this car all last season. 2 passes to achieve this is awesome considering also it is the first time we run slicks on this car. Still more to learn with more testing and seat time.
We will be back again to break in deeper in the 8s as there is quite a bit left in the car still and some more aggressive driving. We will be upgrading the suspension soon and might try to upgrade clutch and hydraulics to help us more but as is it still has quite a bit more in it.

Great Job guys. Get some more drive time at the track and you will probably cut a few more tenths off.

Thanks guys. We were very happy to be able to get it down in the 8s. I will be back to try and get it a bit deeper. I can see myself running 8.7 as the car sits with no changes.
