Heads arrive today at HPR
Next up: cam design and selection.
Hoping we hear something back soon on the FAST intake, as well as the PD version.

Nice can’t wait to see how that Intake works. I just ordered the Southways 108mm TB and I’m having a Mamo MSD intake ported more extensive. The whole runner is being ported out. Hope to see 25rwhp out of both.

Jeremy...if it's not too late, hit Jonathan (Jayyyw) up, as he has the new 108 he got from Josh that he's selling !!!!
I got my 108 already from another seller or I would have got it from him.

HPR informed me the heads and the Comp dual conical spring kit have arrived
The required locks for the retainers for the 8mm valves are on back order, so hopefully that doesn't get drawn out.
Now, to see if the stepped spring locator and the 1.657 OD of the outer spring will fit into the spring pockets on the heads.

Note: "The dual conical spring only weighs 150 grams, complete with a tool steel retainer. This was a 30-gram reduction from our dual spring and Ti retainer combination. 30 grams each for 16 springs is 480 grams total, or more than 1 pound of weight reduction."

Can you fit the dual conical springs on a stock ls7 head, or is the spring pocket not large enough?

I don't believe the stock LS7 head has a pocket large enough......... 1.657" is pretty damn big, but you can clearly see the taper of the spring at the top, and how small the retainer is.
Maybe a stock LS7 head can have the pockets machined to accept the springs....I really don't know if it's feasible or if it weakens the heads in any detrimental way.

And, my first disappointment....... the springs won't fit on the Brodix BR7 BS heads as machined. The heads were advertised as supporting springs with a 1.650" OD , and the Comp springs are advertised as being 1.657" OD.
One of those measurements appears to be off, based on what HPR sees......

That looks more than 0.007 difference. Do you have vernier calipers or any good way to measure?

I'm sure HPR will put some calipers on it to see which measurement is off.

Update - Johnson Short Travel ST2126LSR lifters with axle oiling have arrived.
HPR spec 7/16 dual taper push rods have arrived.

HPR and Comp are still collaborating on a new cam spec to match the rest of the induction side of things, along with a matched conical valve spring to control it all with ultra light tool steel retainers. Valve train should be seriously light, yet still control valve events all the way up to the 7500+ RPM range.
Still awaiting the intake manifold, and still need to get the 108 tb shipped out to me.

slowly coming together.

Very interested on this conical setup...currently running 1511 with Ti retainer but it HAS to be on the absolute ragged edge of control right now and would love a bit of extra headroom...cammotion lobes w/ 0.650 lift.

Unfortunately, the conicals I'll be using won't fit a stock LS7 head.....the o.d. of the spring is too big to fit into the spring pocket. Comp may have another conical in the works that could fit but I don't think any of their current catalog of conicals will.
Billy Godbold could answer that question

6 months and still looking for the DB9....not in a hurry.

I just want to know the first Scottsdale CC when your car will be up there?

Hopefully some time in late spring.....I'll let you know
Even after I get the engine back and installed, I can't immediately go to dyno and tuning as I have a freshly rebuilt rear diff and gears that need break in mileage before I can lean on it.
NicD suggest I run the car on my original MSD/Injector/Intake combo for those break in miles, as my original tune for my K501/FlexFuel setup should be sufficient to get the car to run and idle.
After the break in mileage is done, I can drain all fluids with fresh stuff, then get it over to the dyno with the new injectors/intake/ etc. and go WOT
