[Z06] Best twin clutch

Best twin clutch
As everybody knows I just got through installing a monster naturally aspirated set up on my car that should make over 700 RWHP N/a. I went and drove my car around over 100 miles this weekend to get a good drivability tune as well as a lot of wide open throttle runs while we were logging everything in. I noticed when I punch it and go all the way through the gears third all the way through fourth it seems like the clutch is holding but at a higher gear with lower RPM when I punch it it seems to chatter or it feels like the clutch is slipping as well as trying to grip or maybe the tires are trying to grip or they’re starting to hop that has never done it before maybe the new motor has a lot of good low-end torque but I don’t know. I am just getting prepared to upgrade the clutch now. My builder does say it has it has a Twin Disc clutch with aftermarket flywheel but I don’t know brand and how long it’s been in the car because I bought it with that in it. Being that is naturally aspirated car I definitely want to go with the least weight of rotating mass in the clutch assembly as well as the at least billet aluminum light weight fly wheel. Let me know what everybody thinks

The Mantic is the pinnacle and I’ll put one in eventually, I’m making around 700whp(fuel dependent) I’ve got a Mcload RXT twin with the heavier stainless steel flywheel, got a sick deal from a forum member. It’s holding up for now, no chatter real smooth and probably identical clutch feel to the factory set up. Now how long will it last is another question lol, if I get over 10k miles I’ll be pretty happy.

So what are the pros and cons going with a aluminum flywheel versus like a billet steel flywheel? I roll race my car. Does the lighter rev faster (frees up HP)?? Thank you for any help

Drifting
Mantic Twin most definitely, 35lbs and definitely revs faster. A BCS Carbon Twin is 24lbs but not street friendly. My car felt like I gained a ton of power when I went from stock to the Mantic. Stock is 58-59lbs I think.

I have ran both Mcleod RXT and the Monster LT1-S... (current) I have to say I love the Monster.

thank you. Do you have the lighter flywheel or the steel? Or is there no option and it automatically comes everything light weight

Also how much is the horsepower rating on that clutch

Who has a good deal on the Mantic 9000 with lightweight flywheel?

ECS. Where I got mine and I love it. My car is a race car and gets abused. They have a kit which includes a remote bleeder and a new slave. Everything you need. Call Doug or Chris.

Corrected the first half of the statement and now will elaborate on the second half.
Drove around on this clutch for years.
Taught my daughter how to drive a manual trans on it.
Able to drive around on a motor that wakes up at around 7K
Now for the benefits of a LW clutch/FW:
- Makes more power to the tires
- Revs up faster
- Revs down faster. This may be a detriment while shifting unless you shift quickly.
- Requires more throttle input when launching the car. This can be mitigated by more low end TQ.
- May require additional attention to tuning. Since it revs down quickly, car should be street tuned to prevent it from stalling.

Well, you may not be able to wait the few months before my setup is back on the road, but I have the RXT1200 with light aluminum flywheel in mine.
I also have the 3.90 rear gear which will also assist the clutch with clamping power, and when starting from a dead stop. Your tuner should be able to look at the logs from this weekend to determine if it's wheel hop or clutch over-run when you experience the issue.
