Default CEL Flashes for a couple of seconds on start up

Hows it going everyone. I've been looking around and don't think anyone has had this problem. When I'm warming the vette up in the morning, the check engine light flashes between 5-30 seconds, then goes away.

No driveability issues whatsoever and no codes found. My car runs smooth, idles fine, and screams bloody murder when I punch it with no hiccups. Only happens on a cold start after the car has sat for several hours. If I let it warm up and then turn it off and on no blinking cel. Only started after my tsp stage 4 cam install. New MSD 8.5 wires and new spark plugs.

Thanks for taking a look at my issues and I look forward to any responses you may have..

PS, are traction modes disabled if your tire psi reads zero? Threw on a drag pack and I can only turn traction on and off but cant switch to competitive etc.

Obvious question; did you get a retune after installing the cam?

The check engine light will do that when misfires occur.

Make sure all of your spark plug wires are tight.

I just got boots for the spark plug wires. Redid all the wires and I’m sure they’re all on tight

You'd better re-check those plug wires, again.
Been here a long time, can't recount all the instances where owners swore plugs were attached properly.
Chased many-a-rabbit down holes only to learn they were wrong.

0P300 is the clue, here.
Something's not securely connected.
G/L, re-check your work & make sure plug boots are 'burped'...look-up the term.

Gonna pull all the plugs and check them again. Just to make sure, the plug that goes into the spark plug clicks once and twice for the boot the plugs into the coil? Spark plugs are brand new and have been gapped to .040. Anything else I should check for. Really annoyed that it happens every single cold start

Any chance heat from the headers can ruin the msd wires? I have no boots on them.

The tuner probably did not adjust the idle misfire table

The car isn't actually misfiring isn't. large cams will trick the pcm into thinking the car is misfiring. It likely does it when cold because the car idles a little harsher then. T33he misfire tables just need to be dumbed down not a big deal

Multiply the idle table and running table under 4k by 1.2.

My tuner maxed out all the misfire idle tables. I asked him to show me to verify. I believe he multiplied everything by 5

That's what I thought and that's what my tuner is saying. It is a tsp stage 4 cam and it only likes to do it on cold start ups after its sat several hours. I won't do it once its warm and I've tested this to make sure. Daily'd her for a day and no cel blinking after the initial start up as long as the engine stays warm. Misfire tables have been maxed out.

Monitor misfire counts on a cold start and see if it's isolated to one cylinder or several. This will give you a better direction for diagnosis.
