Default 09 zr1

Went and checked one out yesterday.. 30K miles, 09JSB. Needs shocks, CF side skirts, splitter scuffed, cracked, Needs rear tires, I don't like the shifter ( a lot of lateral side to side movement)? Aftermarket stereo ( not crazy about it either) Oil pressure was great, ran great, stayed cool, no death wobble @ speed ( 70-90mph) BUT seems to be some SC noise ( sounds like bearings) I should probably run huh?

Love the Blue Devil, but I think you can do better than this one. It'd be priced nicely if it were issue free.

Mine has 30k on it, and it don't sound like that! I'd pass on that one.

Too many issues, particularly at that "no haggle" price. I'd move on and keep looking. Still some very nice ones out there.

it's the supercharger coupler...GM did a recall on the LSA engines and some LS9 were warranty replaced.

SC coupler needs to be replaced (I'd use the Eaton solid one) The shocks are very expensive but the other stuff can be replaced with nice lower cost aftermarket stuff. If the aftermarket head unit works well you'll like it way better than the factory unit so no loss there. If you really like the car and can't find anything else wrong with it and don't mind fixing it up, I'd low ball an offer like $48 and leave your number. You never know.

I’ll walk away from that car, especially hearing the knocking and all of the obvious things you noticed.

That sounded like some expensive clanking going in that ls9 —- Lol. If you are confident it was only that lsa/ ls9 supercharger Tech recall , You could bring in a pretend ls9 expert and while it’s idling have your expert scratch his *** and say that’s an expensive clank — probably 20k to replace the rotating assembly along with the complete rebuild —— then offer them 36k.

That knocking noise definitely sounds like the coupler to me. I've never experienced it firsthand on an LS9, but I did have it happen on the LSA in my 13 ZL1 at about 6k miles. Sounded like a can of marbles. GM replaced the whole supercharger under warranty for me in that case. Here's a YouTube video that mirrors exactly what mine sounded like.

what a bunch of dumb F’s. If they want to present it properly in order to sell it to whoever— they need to fix it.

Ouch. Minus the obvious knocking sound from the blower... looked okay to me.
