I'm looking forward to moving back, but I have a house less than 10 minutes from the beach. I don't have any idea why someone would live there if they weren't near the beach, because 45 minutes inland and it's almost as hot as Phoenix.

I try to avoid ¢alifornia at all costs. A lot of folks from there moving into Texas lately, I swear we need a Texas history exam much like folks from outside of the US have to take in order to immigrate into the US.

I've had modified cars in Cali for years. I never had any issues getting stopped, but none of my cars were obnoxiously loud nor did I drive like a lunatic all over the place.

would you consider billy Bullets and no cats obnoxiously load? I mean its subjective I guess, Swapping exhausts is something that’s not a hard or expensive solution if it becomes a problem.

I ran my B&B fusions wide open 99% of the time when I lived in OC, albeit w/ OE manifolds & cats...but never had an issue.

Fusions would be my COA1 if I made a change maybe the Akra’s If a deal came along, I love the bullets sound on my set up, plan to keep it that way if possible but yeah exhaust sound and drone all that very subjective.

Yeah all bets are off if that’s the case. When I’m referring to be messed with it’s assumed minding your business just cruising.

The mandatory trip to the smog ref... will he JUST be checking noise, or checking emissions legality of the whole f*ckin' car?

I just hope the liberals don't take control in AZ, where we are relatively free to deal with our own lives vs gov't controlled. The vehicle check every 2 years only checks the gas cap and to see if any OBDII codes are present. Outside of the Phoenix and Tucson area, no emission check is required. The condition of anything else is only checked at the original registration or when law enforcement spots an obvious problem.

The guys with just a cat back with be good. The guys with missing equipment will not want a trip to the referee because even if it is under 95db it may fail in other ways.

Or will it be luck-of-the-draw, depending on how big a d*ck your inspector wants to be?
Way too much vagueness in the law for my taste.

The reports of the $1K fine all over YT and various forums, may not be all accurate.
According to:
https://jalopnik.com/why-people-are-...s-e-1831620651
https://www.courts.ca.gov/documents/2019-JC-BAIL.pdf
The fine for muffler removal is $25 plus additional penalties & fees potentially bringing the total to $197.
Avoid the ghetto whistle tip mods those, rightfully so, get hit the hardest in fines and fees.
