Here's the latest update, I just made this video. Looks like the two original rear shocks that I received are bad. I have received one good replacement that I show off in the video and I have another replacement on the way. I explain things better in the vid.

Definitely a problem with consistency of the product. Hey Aldan American, we're pulling for you guy's to give us a cheaper quality coilover. If you make it, we will buy it. But so far it's not good enough.

Hi guys I’m over in the U.K. and decided to give the aldan coilovers a try.
As you can see below just to get the car to a driveable height I’ve had to have the height adjustment set at the heights the possible. I also have a massive issue with the springs being too compressed and the car driving absolutely terribly. Not good I’m afraid.

Left is front, right is rear with the car on the ground.

Hi SteveSierra, wow, that rear is really compressed. That just doesn’t seem right. My spring rates are 100lbs heavier than yours both front and rear, we’ll see if that makes a difference.

Do you know if you have the long or short version? The long version is supposed to let you adjust to stock ride height from what I’ve read.

Apparently they only sell one size now which is what they sent me.
This is how my car sits with the adjustment at full height
My concerns are that if I’m maxed out just to be able to drive the car then surely it compromising the ride quality and handling.

Something is wrong with that spring!
It'll be into coil bind over any bump. Maybe they made it out of aluminum by mistake?
Eibach or Hyperco springs are only about $60...

It looks like your front wheels will rub while making a turn.

So here’s the latest, I received the second replacement rear shock from Aldan last week and before I put it on I tested the rebound **** and sometimes when I compressed it on full soft (fast rebound with **** rotated all the way counter clockwise) the shock would only rebound about halfway through the stroke then lock up and I could only unlock it by compressing it a few times. Also unlike the other rear shock, I was unable to manually work the nitrogen air bubbles out and the shock rebound dampening stops working at the top 1/3 of the stroke and the shock shoots upward till it hits the internal stop. Aldan had said that the car needs to be driven to work out the nitrogen so I installed the shocks and to my dismay, just like SteveSierra, I maxed out the preload and the car is still slammed with nearly no fender gap and there is no way I can make it over a speed bump. It looks like this setup doesnt work well with the C6 platform.

Well 03Zcrit you gave it a shot. But for me the Aldan's have way too many problems. Thank's for the lesson.

There are a few ex-CF members who have successfully installed and run these.
If you have a FB account, check out the ZVO page (Z06 Vette Owners) for additional info.

It's these sorts of issues that led me to trust DRM.. You want a vendor that has extensive experience with the platform, with specific valving and spring rates tailored to the vehicle.

LG would be my second choice, but I don't agree with thier aggressive front spring rates, and because they are using solid bushings in the mounts they will eventually rattle, which sucks for a nice street car that occasionally sees track duty.

So I finally had some time to remove and check the rear shocks. Aldan have been helpful but a little annoying asking me for loads of measurements and desired heights. I just want a set of coilovers that I can lower roughly 2-3’ from stock and ride well.
Mat the min the shocks seem too short, springs too weak and shocks seem to be broken.
See videos below of the 2 rear shocks, one seems to be the same no matter what setting it’s on and the other seems to spring up half way on the softest setting.
Its getting very frustrating now as I’m not exactly round the corner from them and do not have the time to keep installing and removing.
