Default Blackstone test - stock motor

Just wanted to get a second opinion on this blackstone test. Lab notes say the oil is perfect....

Its supposedly a stock 2007 z06 with 65k miles on it (can't be sure the previous owner did any work but everything appears stock)

Just wondering how this report lines up with anyone elses? Comments/concerns?

I’m no expert, but it looks like a good news story to me. Waiting on my results to come back as well.

I’d say that’s damn good news man! I’m waiting on my kit to arrive, it may have already I’m just out on a training trip. @ Patriot Six what’s the lowest amount of miles you’d send a sample in with? Being my build is new I’ve changed the oil several times from break in and in between tunes and dyno pulls, the oil sample I have is Amsoil 5w30 OE it’s got around 1200-1500 miles and two dyno sessions after break in oil was changed. Amsoil signature series 5w30 is what I’m running now and will continue with. I’ve got the OE sample and filter saved and stored just curious if it’s to low of miles or would the multiple dyno sessions make up for miles? I’ll probably send it anyway and just add it to the files on the car.

I just sent in a 600 mile sample because I had metal slivers in the last filter I cut open. Just identify that on the spec sheet when you send it in.

will do, I had two or three little specs in mine but no metallic flakes or discoloring of the oil, figured that would be normal with a new rebuild, it didn’t have magnetic plugs either so I swapped those out also, I just wanna start the blackstone reports early and be able to have a bunch of samples to watch out for changes especially since I’ve still got the Ti rods.

Same here regarding the Ti rods. It’s helpful to start a baseline and track where the numbers go over time.

That looks like my stock LS7 BL reports for M1 5W-30 did, which is good.

I changed to M1 0W-40 at 28K miles due to doing track work and 280* oil temps. Now it is an HCI car with forged bottom end.

Even though my BL reports looked good, when I had the heads and HCI work at 46K miles, the valve guides were shot.

You running MS90 guides? Something else? Mordeth has good data on a heavily tracked car with MS90’s. Seems to be holding strong.

My take is Blackstone knows more about LS7 oil results than probably anyone here, since that's their full time job, and they have a big database to compare to.

i definitely agree Blackstone is likely the subject matter expert in regards to levels and such in the oil.... since this is my first analysis from them, i'm just trying to get a feel for what other people have seen on their reports etc....

it's interesting the guides issue may not have a tell on the report, maybe they're just stretched out or compressed instead of actually having material wear into the engine oil?

i'm not trying to say if there is or isnt a guide issue, there's been plenty of debate on that... i'm just trying to get an idea of where my stock engine falls at 65k miles in regards to wear and tear...

i guess ill have to put another 2k miles on it and send in another sample to see if it matches up or if it was just an anomaly...

oh also, every oil change has metal shavings on both plugs... (ive also read plenty that this is normal, though id still like to know where they came from)

Once the heads were done by WCCH, CHE bronze guides and full HCI work, I put 12K miles on the build. In that 12K miles I did start to get Ti levels of 7-8ppm for the first time and lead levels doubled although not at bad levels. I had the bottome end forged then and the heads went back to WCCH to be checked. At that point all guides were .0011 to .0016, so all good.
