Great car, light weight and decent power, EXCEPT for the screwing General Motors gave to the owners.
I owned a 2007 Z06. Major problems were:
1) Fatal mistake in the machining of the heads, resulting in broke valves and destroyed engines, WITH NO RECALL
2) 1,500 sets of rocker arms made in China, ask me how I know. WITH THE GM CORRECTION ONLY REPLACING THE PARTICULAR FAILED ROCKER ARM (and not any of the others

Second owner of 2007 2LZ w/ 81k miles on stock internals. Valve to guide clearances measured within service limits at 62k miles.
This is great to see, as these cars were built to be driven. Perhaps sharing the details of your experience (or posting a link here if you have already) would give more owners the confidence to do so. Your take on the root cause and "the fix" thread is among the reasons I installed an oil preheater and oil cooler thermostat (while John_G's findings suggest that I should not accept random cores when the time comes). The mileage before stock LS7 engine failure poll results could be interesting if folks participate...

I was going to ask you to prove it with a picture of the odo. 47k for an 06 isn't really that many miles. I have 141k on my 06.

2009 3LZ, Victory Red, bought new in 2010. Listed for $83K and dealer wanted to get rid of it with rebates and discount for $62K. Traded in an '08 3LT VY coupe, Z51 that had been hit hard from behind and got $34k for it. I had Carbotech brakes and Pfadt front and rear sways and shocks installed and tracked it from 2011-2014 with nary a problem and it was fast around Nelson Ledges with sub 1'18' times. I traded it for a '14 C7 2LT, Z51, VY, 7M which was lightly tapped from behind in bumper to bumper traffic. Traded that car on a new '17Z, RY, 7M, 3LZ in Sept. Someone at Cable-Dahmer got a great '09 Z06 back in Aug '14.

How difficult was the heat extractors on the hood? Did you do it yourself? Time/money spent? Are you happy with the out come? Most importantly was this a looks thing or did you see some lower temps letting that hot air out?
Looks good!
