Replacing front splitter
Hello all, I'm interested in replacing my front splitter. I know there are aftermarket ones out there. Can anyone give me their experience on buying a carbon fiber exposed front splitter, that looks very similar to the Oem splitter. And whom to purchase it from. I don't want to have to paint it. Also, don't want to pay 2200 from the dealer. Thanks

I replaced my splitter with a carbon fiber one from Katech. It looked exactly like the OEM splitter and the screw holes lined up perfectly. If I remember correctly the cost with shipping was around $750.

I used C7 Carbon after I destroyed my OEM splitter. Fit and finish are fantastic, could not be happier. $529 from their door to mine. But that was 1.5 years ago.

I bought a fiberglass one from ebay for $160 which is the same weight and rigidity, but does not have the CF look. For a few hundred more you can have it painted. I think it's a good value.

From what I understand mine (from C7 Carbon) is fiberglass underneath with Carbon Fiber on top and it came glossy. Ready to install. Plug and play if you will. Which is what I was looking for.

One thing I've heard about C7 carbon is that they can take weeks even months to ship orders. I got my ebay splitter in less than 3 days, free shipping, hardware included. I'll be putting it on later today and I'll take pics. I track the car so it's not getting painted, but at least you'll see the finished product.

I've had them from Ebay, RPI and now C7 Carbon on this go around. The C7 carbon is a very high quality piece and I am extremely pleased with it. It was packed extremely well and it is obvious someone spent time on the details. I also had them install a flange along the bottom so I can screw my undertray into it.
Here is the C7 Carbon piece.
Will be mated to this undertray (still in rough cut form):

So far I like the katech because its 100% carbon fiber. I reached out to c7 carbon and have not heard from them yet. Someone mentioned the c7 carbon one is carbon fiber over fiberglass. I dont want to paint it. Just want to plug and play. The dealer one is 2200. I just cant seem to cough that up. The katech has reinforcements on the bottom. The katech and c7 carbon are around the same price.

I Have also noticed Variations in length from all of the brands that make them.
I do want to add that I did purchase the ebay version of the carbon fiber ZR1 splitter, the fit was perfect, but the finish was Terrible, the clear began to yellow only days after I installed it. I was not impressed.
Where did you verify that the C7 carbon was an inch longer than OEM? it specifically states on their description that it was molded from the factory GM splitter...

I realized I was going to eat these 2x a year between my driveway and track and made a mold and now make my own. Can make aggressive ones for track with under tray and cheaper ones for street. Removed the slot on Z06 splitter since I routed ducts directly to front of grill area. The mold and materials to get started are not cheap but I couldn't stand the thought of replacing a $1800 splitter/tray

Chassed, look under the vendor for sale section. Go about 4 post down, you will see c7 carbon thread. Look in there, you will see they sell the splitter that's 1 inch wider then oem factory.
