I read good things about this drop-in 'Blue' filter but have not purchased it yet.

I've got a spare OE LS9 air filter I wouldn't be opposed to parting with, the real one with the big pleats, in the original AC Delco box if you'd like to go that route. I bought it for an eventual spare from another CF member as I originally intended to retain my OE air box but broke down chasing dyno numbers and went to the Airaid air intake. Send me a PM if you are interested, I can send you pics.

Attack blue seems to be the number one choice. I just bought one. I haven’t installed it yet but it’s not a true drop in from what I’ve seen. You may have to modify the air box a little or the black rubber on the filter to sit properly.

This explains it pretty well. You can cut the slits out, or knock out the little plastic pieces, which is what I did.https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...81BD&FORM=VIRE

How well does an Attack Blue perform with ported heads and a mild cam? Something like a AHP 116 cam? I currently run an Airaid intake but I am scheduled to get a tune next week. I am thinking going with the factory CAI and a Attack Blue.

So awesome to see so many using, and that are happy with this filter. I too noticed a lot of "go fast lists" of those who run stock intakes in their Zr1's, have the Attack Blue installed. She just loves a supercharged environment and makes a ton of power.
It seems GM must have slightly changed the intake on later models. When this filter was developed, the inside was smooth. There were no "tabs". This is why you will see many members say went right in, and some others say they trimmed.
As far as power, well her'es yet another interesting clip done by a shop in FL, where it made a 31 hp gain and gobs of torque in the mid range area.
....and BTW, in the footage above they talk about a GM front brace "not being included".. It is, if you purchase the LS9 Attack blue filter. It costs more (because you're paying for the GM brace).
Its available without the GM brace (cheaper) for early LS3 and LS7's. GM did not glue the brace on those.

Guys...filter wont do anything except let more dirt into your engine. Stock is not restrictive. Any intake that makes more power is either 1) tricking the MAF and leaning it out or 2) giving cooler air preventing the computer from pulling timing. Aftermarket are typically cheaper to replace vs oem though so there is a case for that.
