Random people liking C6 Z06 over C7 Z06
I'm posting this because I'd like to know if anyone else has similar experiences to mine. Over the course of my C6 Z ownership I've had random folks tell me in passing how much they like the C6 Z06 over the C7 Z06.
Now we all know the C7 Z06 is the superior car in terms of interior, tech and power. But I find it odd that people feel the need to share this with me so often...

The interior is not superior - it has less space / headroom and the analog dash in the C6 is preferred by many.
Maybe superior power on an engine dyno, but many of us (who use these cars as intended) do not think a forced induction engine is superior for track use.
Superior tech, like having a switch and a relay to open the glove compartment? The E-diff has been blamed (correctly or incorrectly) for many C7 crashes.. AFM failures, overheating, electric power steering issues..
It's heavy.. Light is Right, period.
In the styling department, many, many people prefer the body lines of a C6 Z06 vs. a C7.

Once while driving my c5z I had a highway patrolman use his megaphone to tell me he liked it more than the new ones, all while in 25 mph traffic. Have yet to have it happen in the c6z!

I hear it a lot that the C6 is the better looking car. The more high tech things get the more things break and cost more to fix. There is nothing on the C6 Z that makes me go oh I wish it had this or that. I think the interior is nice, I don't jump into the car to go oh look at that dashboard. Look how nice it is, the ls7 sound is what I am after. Not to mention the exterior looks of the c6Z can't be beat. GM did a great job on this one. They will always look spectacular no matter if it is 5yrs or 100yrs.

Who cares what random people think?
The average person can’t tell the difference between a base/narrow body or a Zo6.
Personally I hate coming across random people that talk about cars and the ‘69 Camaro they had decades ago.

Based on the Jalopnik C7 renders, I bought my 2013 C6 Z06 in December 2012.
That say anything?

Ive tried .....hard...to like the c7 styling because gm has overbuilt them and they are a great deal. I greatly prefer the c6z body.

The C6Z was built with a purer purpose in mind. Relentless pursuit of weight reduction followed closely by maximization of the things that matter, bigger tires, bigger brakes etc, all around maximum N/A power within the LS package. A street car with serious track cred.
I could see the clinic of the car going something like this. How about a convertible?.......sorry, that affects structural rigidity. Okay then, surely it has a glass removable top like the others?......not happening, as it adds weight to the highest part of the car. In fact, we created a magnesium roof frame and permanently fixed it to the rest of the car. How about a power passenger seat?.......adds weight, not happening either. Did we mention it has an aluminum frame?......umm, okay, how about AC and a stereo?......fine, I guess we'll have to look the other way on the AC thing. Automatic trans?.......Okay, thats it, we gave you the AC....... sorry, but the Z06 is not going to work for you. It was not made and compromised for your demographic.......lets have you look at our GS now instead.

I haven't had that happen, but my personal opinion is the C6Z is the best looking Vette period. Again, my humble opinion. I don't say that because I have a C6Z, rather I have a C6Z because of my opinion. I saw the thread about waving to other Corvette drivers; I will if they wave, but I don't initiate because I don't now, nor have I ever considered myself a Corvette guy. I consider myself a C6Z guy...it's the only Vette I've owned or would ever own unless something drastic changes in my future.
I saw my first Z06 in person in 2007. It was Atomic Orange, and a young lieutenant had just bought it. This was at Little Rock AFB in Arkansas, and this guy was a C-130 pilot. I would walk my dog through base housing specifically on that route just to see that beautiful car sitting in the car port (no garages lol). I said I'd have one some day, and finally in 2016 I was able to make that happen. I didn't hang on to that car, but found another a year ago and unless my fortunes turn, this one is a keeper. I had a 1999 Firehawk at the time, and the LS1/LS2/LS7 were the big deals at that point. Maybe if I had come of age with the C7 I'd prefer it, I don't know. Regardless, the only Vette I have eyes for or have ever had eyes for is the C6Z (ok, C6 ZR1, but that's likely not in my future)...I think the lines are classic and always will be. The C7 is nice, but not my cup of tea.

I would argue that the C6 Z and ZR1 are some of the best looking Corvette's ever made. They just have beautiful, flowing lines and the rear end wide body cars look menacing with the huge tires. The C7 Z had grown on me, but they are definitely busier and more aggressive looking. But no question the interior is more modern and nicer. But I like the analog gauges and dash on the C6 Z. I need to test drive a C7 Z or at least sit in one - never have. I have heard it is a bit more cramped and the visibility is not as good as the C6. I did drive a C6 ZR1 and didn't like the supercharger lag. I punched it and nothing much happened at first. When I do that in my car it throws me back in the seat (I have a modded C6 Z). But when the supercharger did kick in, it really accelerated. I would like to have them both if money was no object.

And one more thing, the interior has so much more room in the C6, i cant tell you many times ive sat in a C7 trying to convince myself its better, its so much tighter inside in that car. I dont care what the numbers say, im 6’3” and its just unfortable as **** in there. C6 so much more room.

The combination of 50% internet hysteria and 50% reality of dropping valves and the fact that there doesn't seem to be a 100% fix for the LS7/LS9 is what kills the C6 for me. I still love my C6Z but I'm keeping my eyes open for the right C7Z.

His wife: does this make me look fat?
ZO6 guy: as a matter fact it does. Now let’s look at how we’re going to address the weight reduction babe! I mean I did it with the C6 ZO6 already so I’m pretty sure I can help you too🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

My experiences were different than yours. I owned a C6Z for several years and a C7GS for two years (I know it's not a C7Z, but does look just like one).. During those two years with the C7GS, I had way more people coming up to me and asking about the car than I did with the C6Z. It's all completely meaningless of course, but that was my experience.
