Michelin Pilot Sport 4s or Continental Exteme Contact Sport
So I have decided to go non runflat and I am down to these two choices. I would like to hear from those who have run them to help me decide which ones to go with. The continental are about 300 cheaper but that's not really a big deal but I plan to get some this week so I need to decided. Thanks in advance.

The worst part about my situation is that my current Michelin Pilot Sport ZP's have about 80% tread left but are now 10 years old and rock hard and have zero traction. I knew it would be an item to replace soon when I bought this car from my father in law last March. I put about 1500 miles on them and said I'm done. I am worried about a blow out even thought they look brand new and have not appearance of dry rot.

I've heard great things about both. I am going to be getting the pilot sport 4s to replace my sport cup 2s. I trust Michelin products and the videos I have watched show that they are very versatile at cooler to warmer temps and can even handle wet surfaces.

I decided to try the Continentals Extreme on my Z06. My last set was Michelin Pilots Sport 4s, I had about 45K on them when I switched them out. I always thought I had too much road noise with them and they didn’t hook up like I expected at times in wet weather. I only have about 5K on the Continentals so far and couldn’t be happier with them. They seam to be quieter and seam to give me better traction both on dry/wet pavement. Time will tell but so far I’m sold on the Continentals. Good luck.

Most 19/20 are run flats. Many more non runflat choices in the factory 18/19 setup, a good reason not to upsize for looks and then decide you want tires that will grip.

I ran conti extreme sports on my car, even did a track day with them at Spring Mountain and they are, I ran them with 517whp and hooked without any issues. At the road course they never faded on me, even on the 4th session of the day, I had the same amount of grip as the first heat...great tires.

In the end it comes down to what you are looking for as both are great tires. I see the differences, and our testing shows, that the Continental has the edge in wet traction while the Michelin is slightly better in the dry. Michelin clearly wins on the warranty side of the equation with it's 30,000 miles wear warranty and 3 year flat tire changing/free towing. The Continentals priced at $1035.96 vs. Michelin's $1321.96 give them the easy win on the out of pocket expenses. Both are great tires and neither would be viewed as a mistake.
if you want more info on Michelin's warranty here's a link
Michelin Promise plan
Pay special attention to the inside cover, which shows up as the second page in this PDF, under "flat tire assistance".

The promise plan I think makes my decision. Thanks for the info!

I will soon be faced with making the same decision. I have MPSS on my Z06 now that will need to be replaced before too long. I had been eyeballing the CECS as replacements. I needed tires for my Chevy SS and I decided to go with CECS (actually being mounted today, 255F, 275R) so I could see if I like them enough to try them on the Z06.

Her car doesn't have the exact tire I am looking at. She has the Continental Control Contact Sport AS 3 not the Extreme contact Sports I am looking at for the Z. I think I am going Michelin anyway.

I have never regretted buying Michelin's, but I have often regretted buying something else ...
