Default Aftermarket Exhaust Question (Axle back)

I have some LPE & some Kong mods with estimated 730bhp. Stock exhaust and stock cam. 2010 ZR1 looking for cat back system that will give this car some thump/noise at idle as well as through the rpm band. Valves, no valves, are they needed? I don’t really care about the car being quiet at all. I’ve just read in some of my research that some aftermarket systems are actually quieter than the OEM exhaust. I definitely don’t want that. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Lot of great choices out there; I have Borla Atak and love it. Very deep and aggressive, pretty loud when you want it to be, but tame while cruising. Pops and crackles on decel are awesome. I’ve not missed the valves at all. That said, B&B Fusion and Akropovic both have valves and are quite popular. Corsa also gets a lot of love.

Excellent, that’s just the information I’m looking for. I don’t care to keep the valves at all. I just want some great sound. Thanks, I’m going to go look at the Borla sight now and see what they have. I’d like black tips too, if that’s an option. Thanks again!

I have the Corsa Sports on my stock ZR1, and they are not quiet, at full song! I love the Corsa's, have had them on several cars. The Corsa Extremes are even spicier. I've had Borlas, too. Corsa makes a quality product. HTH

I've been looking at Akra, Corsa, Borla and Billy Boat for the last 48 hours. I don't have anything to trade, but I'm curious to know why you want to step away from your B&B Fusions?

We have all 3 systems in stock.. Akra, Corsa, Borla..

If you want the best, get the Akra!

Having a great sale on Corsa this month and you can't go wrong with Borla..

Josh,

Can I get an Akra system that doesn’t require the use of exhaust valves?

You just get a M2W switch, and leave them open all the time...or pull the fuse from the fuse box in the pass footwell, and it stays open all the time.

Akra doesn't come with the exhaust valves.

Technically, it does come with the valves...but you need to re-use your OE actuators to operate the Akra valves. But I knew what you meant... (he might not tho)

I figured that, because I didn’t see any of their systems without valves. I just want to eliminate them altogether. I’ve been leaning towards the Billy Boat Bullet system with black 4” tips.

Correct, you have to use the actuator appartus from the OEM exhaust. I didn’t really word that correctly. I prefer to just eliminate the valves altogether and if Akra had a system without them, I would have bought it. Those carbon fiber tips are pretty badass.

I had long tubes on my Z06. I won’t put them on my ZR1. Thanks though.
