We don’t have the noisiest valvetrain after all...
Everyone always comments about the valve noise on the LS motors. Well, I picked up a 2018 Tundra with the twin cam 5.7, puts our LS7 to shame as far as valvetrain noise. Had a guy ask me if I had a diesel in it one day as he walked by..... lol !!! Great truck though!!!

It's not all valve noise... Lookup "Toyota tick" on any forum and it usually points to vacuum scavenging valve or something else making the normal Toyota engine noise on the 5.7, the 4.0, and others. That 5.7 has been around since 2006 and while it is a bit outdated in performance, it is one of the most de-bugged and reliable engines around.

LOL! I know what you mean. Tundra owner since 2011 and a Corvette owner since 2004 (LS1, LS3, LS6, LS7 and LT1). My Tundra has made more valve train noise than any of my Vettes! I've put 140K miles on the IForce 5.7 V8 in the Tundra with not even a hint of performance loss. Utterly reliable and noisy as hell.. My LS engines have also been utterly reliable, just less noisy
