[Z06] What is considered low oil pressure??

I would check to assure that the oil is at the proper level. Also, what weight oil is in there? I would think those two variables could affect pressure.

Weight yes, level not really. Level would just mean the difference between zero and some. How far over the pickup has little to no effect on running pressure.

Actually, low oil level is the number 1 reason cited.

Melting Slicks
When oil temp is cold, I see 70 PSI at idle
When oil temp is warm, 180F, I see 30/35 PSI at idle
When oil temp is hot , 260F to 280F, I see 10 PSI at idle. These temps are after 20 to 30 minutes of hard track driving.

how is your car now? Is it still running okay at that psi warm to this day?

Engine Oil Pressure
When my engine is cold, I see 75 psi at idle. All of these numbers are with Mobil One 0w-40 oil. I run my engine to 260 degF on track, but I strive to cool down the oil temps with a cool-down lap before entering the pits. Still, the engine oil temperature may be 225 degF at idle, producing 18 psig. This seems fine. I think the engine oil pressure would have been higher had it hot had a failure of 6 cam lobes and one lifter, but I cannot undo this. I am happy with my hot oil pressure until I can find an opportunity to rebuild the short block and make things better. Until then, 18 psi hot idle oil pressure is great.
