What is considered low oil pressure??
Looking at pulling the trigger on this 2006 c6 z06 as I was test driving seemed to me to have low oil pressure??
Its has a rpm head/Cam package. Should I stay away or is this normal. Car has 44k miles...
Here is idle pressure vs 3k rpm pressure

Normal if up to temp. Mine has been 24 with oil at 200 degrees and 20 at 215 for a few years. It was the same prior to heads/cam a couple years ago. Runs strong and uses minimal oil between changes.

BTW I run 5W-30, the low pressure could be due to oil weight.

While it does meet factory spec, it does seem low. All my motors have seen 70+ at idle when cold, and drop to that when hot, like 200+ water/oil temps. I would be weary.

After I did my heads and cam that’s what mine was at. It has slowly decreased over time. At 190f my oil pressure gets as low as 17 psi. Not good. I would walk away if I were you. Currently at 61k miles.

Same as most these guys posting....cold start is always 50psi+ prob more like 60’s. 200+ I see 25psi at idle and that’s normal on mine. I’d also be concerned at that psi on a cold start or just warm(psi @ sub 150 deg) is probably pass without knowing more....unfortunately only way to get those answers would be very intrusive to the motor, something that’s not gonna be possible on a car you don’t own.

Mine is a 09Z06 with about 28K and on cold starts it's at 70-75. When looking at your gauges I'd say it's lower than I'd like. I don't go to 3K until it's warmed up more either.
See if the owner can get it warmed up to at least 180* and look at it again. It's going to be less obviously, but how much?
Myself, I'd probably pass on that one. Good luck.
Edit: What's going on with the voltage in the second shot? Why way low?

To me it seems a bit strange that on a cold startup the oli pressure is so low. On my LS3 drysump GS with cold startups I see 80PSI then when the engine warms up I see roughly high 30 to 40 PSI at idle then 50-60 PSI under normal driving. I only see 30 PSI or lower when I'm at the track and at the end of a long session (30 mins) and the engine temp is usually 225*F or more.
BTW I run 5W-30, the low pressure could be due to oil weight.

That pressure is low for the engine temp and what will also be an even lower oil temp. Based on both the LS7's I've had. Pressures were about 70psi cold. Also the 2006 Z has the oil to air cooler which requires a long time for the oil to reach proper operating temp. Coolant/engine will be at temp for quite a while until oil numbers are at temp. If looking at other cars check not just your engine temps to discern pressure also scroll through the information center to find your oil temp. I would walk from this one.
