Default 2 years and countless 10.0X's

After 2 years and multiple 10.0x 1/4 mile passes I was finally able to achieve a personal goal in my car and crack off some 9 second passes at the Maryland International Raceway. I drive to and from MIR 50 miles one way from Washington DC. Slicks and skinnies, extra fuel, tools, and an extra axle fit snugly in the passenger seat area and rear compartment. Huge thanks to the LS7 mad scientist Corvette Forum member Sebast19X for tuning my car and providing countless hours of support reviewing data logs and providing advice and expertise along the way.

Setup on the car is as follows:

2006 C6 Z06
Stock displacement 427ci shortblock built by Shawn Miller at Precision Racing Technologies

-OEM crank
-OEM rods
-Custom Diamond Pistons

MSD Airforce intake, NW 103 TB, 1050x injectors, Halltech Carbon Fiber 112 cold air intake with Vette-air scoop, 285cc ported/milled heads, very mild solid roller camshaft, 1 7/8 ARH headers, ZR1 catback, pump E85, TR6060, 26x10x15 MT stiffwall slick and front skinnies, RPS BC2 clutch

Everything from the alignment to fuel system and everything in between was installed and tweaked by John McGhee

DA was approximately -600 for the 9.74 sec pass

- 9.7x pass

- 9.8x pass

Congrats to you Rob. Very nice driving, take all due credit. You step up you're game and it pay off. You put together a damn nice healthy package.

Beautiful to watch the inside of the car videos. Can't wait to meet all the team at the track this year

Seb

What do you think the key was for getting into the 9s here from your last efforts? Whos heads are on there - I thought you had All Pro heads.

Yes sir same All-Pro 12-1 heads i had on car for last 3 years. Biggest key factor was new clutch. RPS sent me a newer design and it enables me to shift twice as fast as I was in the last couple years. I was plagued with high RPM disengagement issues. This RPS BC2 engages clean at any rpm. I shifted like butter at 7700 on a few passes. Seb made some changes to my tune as well and the car was approx 25 pounds lighter thats really about it. Shifting was key!
A 1.34 60' doesn't hurt either

That's awesome! What clutch did you gave before this one and is the rps the steel or aluminum flywheel?
