ZR1 wheel options
Hey guys. Just trying to get a little input from ZR1 owners on wheels. I'm very quickly learning that wheel options for our ZR1s are very limited thanks to the ginormous calipers. The OEM rims are just too busy for me and quite frankly, cleaning them is akin to a root canal.
I was initially gung-ho for the spyder wheels until i realized that they won't fit over our calipers, nor do they make 20" rears. Sadly...pass.
As I continued to look, I was very quickly stupefied to find that short of the $6-10K wheels, you simply can't find any wheels for this car below about $4K.
Not trying to cheap out, but are there any non-ZR-OEM-sytle wheels out there i'm missing that don't cost 4 figures PER wheel and actually fit on the ZR1? The lack of wheel options these brakes present is beyond mind boggling to me.

New GM wheels for the zr1 are 600-700 each. If you want a high quality aftermarket wheel that is capable of fitting over the stock brakes as well as accommodate the monster tires, yes you're going to be paying a premium. After all, it's a premium car.
My wheels arent too bad to clean (cup wheels). I have a wheel wooly from adams and a soft brush for the lug nut areas that both get in there and clean pretty good.

Forgestar is a good option and has several wheel styles that clear our CCB's. Alternatively, you can find some great deals on used wheels in the partsforsale/wanted section. I stumbled upon a set of lightly used Forgelines, and ended up getting a great deal. Very best mod to date. Keep your eyes peeled.

I landed a good deal on a set of CCW's. 18" on all 4 corners. 10" front and 13" rear (12" rear would be more ideal)
If you want black... well, those are easier to find.
I wanted polished aluminum.
You will need to run spacers on the front:

Ignore the comment from another member about not needing ET lug nuts.

I was originally going to go with Satin Cups, because first, I really like the look of the Cup wheel (easy to clean) and second, because they're an OEM wheel. When DocZ showed me the black chrome Cups, I knew I had to have them. Good luck with your search!!!

I went with the satin black cups, and tires from a forum vendor. Down the road, I am considering some Finspeeds, eighteen's all around. I've never really been a fan of more wheel than rubber!

I actually prefer the OEM wheels and absolutely love my Comp Grays. Haven't found an aftermarket wheel I'd swap them for. As for cleaning, it's always been a breeze and a non-issue due to the CC brakes.

I'm going with CCW sp500 polished wheels 19x13 rear and 19x11 fronts. Here is a pic of the rear. 345 Nitto drag radials mounted. Just waiting on my fronts to be made. Each set of wheels are made to order so there is a little wait time. 6 weeks.

As far as big money wheels go, I've always thought the Forgeline VX1 unpainted were absolutely awesome on the C6 ZR.
Keeping an ultra close eye on the FS section for a set of those. Not holding my breath tho

Regardless of what GM wheels cost brand new, I don't think i'd ever pay more than $2K for a set of factory wheels. Not when there are so many better wheels for very little more.

Anyone ever seen the Vertini RF1.2 before? One of the few wheels out there that comes in around $2K for a set that'll clear our calipers.
Guess they just caught my eye as a knock-off similar to the Forgeline VX1

So deals are definitely out there if you can find them. I saw a set of these on ebay for $1700.00 + shipping (silver).
