Default How to identify if seats are heated?

Help needed please

I am likely buying some C6 Z06 seats that were removed years ago from a car. The company does not remember the car. The contact has looked at them but cannot tell if they are heated or not.

How can one tell. They are not in a car.

Thanks!

Should be a harness w/ connector.
W. seat out it should easily be visible looking at bottom.
That'd be what I'd guess, anyway.
Power heated seats need power, power takes conductors & a plug of some kind.

It does need power but maybe its just another conductor in the receptacle? Trying to figure it out without removing the seat cushion.

I think that I recall there being no motor on the passenger side, just an air bag connector and heater connection if it has one.

Yes, the passenger side is manual.

Still need to identify the difference between heated and no heat.

What's needed is a schematic of seat wiring w/ wire colors for each function. Motor, heater etc.
Heated seats certainly must use specific colored wires going to plug. Everything else electrical/electronic sure seems to.
Be a tell what you have there, or not.

ID seat electrical wire colors and you'll know seat function(s), no guessing, a definitive answer.

True

I don't know if seats have a VIN number. Could find out that way.

Don't need VIN, my friend.
Start searching for a service manual, it's the circuit that's needed.
Circuit will be drawn w/ wire #s *and* color.

Good point

I will go to a local dealer to see if they can help out.

There is a connector that drops from the bottom of the seat that connects into a box tucked up and attached to the seat wires (the wires that are the support for the foam) I dont have any pictures but if you can get some of the bottom of your new seats I can tell you.

Found some pics online, you need to locate the brown box that I circled. Easy to find on the pass side, above the seat motor on the driver side.

That is what I was hoping to find. I will send it to Livernois Motorsports tomorrow

Thank you very much for your efforts.

You're welcome! Also I'm pretty sure all factory heated seats were perforated leather center sections, not 100% sure on that tho.

I will find out next week when I drive to Dearborn to pick them up (if they are heated) (and get a tune on my Explorer Sport)!
