Default Ls7 balancer install tool

I have searched the web and was looking to find a good harmonic balancer install tool.I saw the Hawks motorsports tool was very well designed but I dont think it is still available, can someone point me in the right direction to find a good unit?.
I also read old posts where guys would heat the balancers in the oven at 250° for around 30 minutes and then slide them on the crank, is this a good practice because I would think the heat from the balancer could distort the crank seal.

You can easily make yourself a damper install tool. Buy a hardened threaded steel rod with the correct thread pitch (if I remember correctly it's M16x2), couple of nuts, hardened washers same diameter as the washer on the crank bolt and spacers (a deep impact socket will work) and go to town installing that damper.

I did just that when I did my HCI 3 years ago on my Z06 installing my 10%ATI, actually was able to make 3 install tools out of the threaded rod and sold the other 2 locally (kept one for myself for later use)………………….worked like a charm and basically cost me nothing since the other 2 paid for my costs getting the parts to make the install tool.

Yep, that's what I did. The thread pitch isn't a common type so I had to order a longer rod from Fastenal and cut it down to size.

Where are you located? May be someone near you that would let you borrow one. I made my own like others have.

I cut the head off of the old balancer bolt and welded a few inches of a high strength stud to it to make my own tool.
