Default Rear spoiler

I've now seen a few other z06s locally and noticed that my spoiler looks different. All the ones I have seen have the black 3rd brake light. But mine looks molded into the spoiler.

What is this thing??

Looks like a factory ZR1 spoiler.

No, that's a GM C6 Racing Spoiler, like the one that came on the 2007 Ron Fellows cars. They are hard to find these days in genuine form; I bought an aftermarket version and the fitment was horrible with gaps all over. I then found a genuine GM already painted and it fits and look great. IMO this is the nicest looking spoiler; flows well, still shows off the lines of the rear, and is low-key.

Just to clarify. It is NOT a ZR1 spoiler. Those are wrong responses.

It is the GM full width racing aka Ron Fellows spoiler.

Thanks for all info guys.

I really wanted a carbon Zr1 style spoiler but, maybe I'll stick with this one.

How hard was that to install by yourself? I'm always wary of things like that. They always say you don't need to drill holes or do anything funky and you usually always end up having to

Not too difficult. I did drill holes but there is an indentation underneath the factory spoiler that serves as a pretty good guide. Job took about 2 hours.

Here is a great video that shows you the step by step install of a ZR1 style rear spoiler on a C6 ...

BTW .... Here is the ZR1 style rear spoiler on my 2011 GS:

And here is a link for the purchase ($170 Shipped) ... https://extremeonlinestore.com/colle...nt=54318933899

The finish is a lightly textured black plastic that matches the GS / Z06 rear diffuser, but, prior to install, I had my spoiler hydrocarbon dipped here locally.
