Won't go i nto reverse -- help!
Horrendously hard to get into reverse - even when the ignition is off.
Months ago had new flywheel/clutch/pp etc installed.
First two track days worked flawlessly.
Next event...
half way thru first day, became hard to get into reverse - really easy if everything was off.
especially right after coming off track when hot.
second day, could only get it into reverse if ignition was off
Also much stiffer getting shifter all the way over to the gate..
How hard can I push on it without breaking something...
Has MGW shifter in there for 10 yrs. Never a problem.
Pulled console re-aligned shifter.
Working mostly, but very stiff to get in.
after a few days, back to almost impossible.
Re-aligned shifter again.
Better for a few days.
Now gone to hell again.
Never any grinding.
Even with engine off -- very hard to get into reverse.
Any thoughts???
Could reverse lockout solenoid be sticking partially engaged? Problem originally first started coming in from a hot track session...

Sounds like the reverse lockout is giving you issues.

Check wiring and replace/inspect the reverse lockout solenoid. Gets damaged easily when messing with exhaust.

i had that. i nicked a wire in teh back (when installing exhast) that blew the fuse that controlled reverse lockout)
was under the hood i think. i wanna say fuse 14, but its been a long time, and my memory is terrible.
