Thank you Corvette Forum- new member
Hello All,
i have been a peanut peanut gallery reader of these forums for quite some time now. I recently purchased my dream car and first corvette (12k mile 2009 Z06 3LZ) and figured I would make it official and join up. I would like to thank all the active members of this forum for saving my engine, yes that’s right. Before reading these forums I had no idea that a head issue on the LS7’s existed. After much research I decided that at the very least I would have my heads inspected ASAP. Wouldn’t you know it, multiple valves had more than 3X the service limit of play 😭 had I not been proactive I would have surely lost my engine. All is well now with new AHP heads. Im going to be making a separate post detailing my experience with this issue as well as posting videos I have of the stock heads. I realize this has been discussed over and over and over, however, I read every single post and found that a lot of times there were conflicting opinions. This caused me to be less cautious than I should have been like taking my car to redline multiple times before having the inspection done. I feel it’s better to have too much Information than not enough. I’m going to stop rambling now, thanks again to all the dedicated owners in this forum, I look forward to being a part of it.

Welcome Sparky, your story is very similar to mine in so many ways (first Vette, Black Z06, Chrome spiders) except that I had been lurking on these forums for years and was very aware of the guide issue when I bought and already had AHP lined up to do my heads.
Your Z looks awesome! These cars are are so much fun, you’re going to love it! Whereabouts are you located? (I saw in another post you are in Canada)

Kelowna Chevrolet, which used to be Don Folk Chevrolet, seems to be a great dealership. I have been in there and they have had 12-15 Corvettes on the floor and more outside. Not sure if the ownership changed when the name changed, but they have had a strong Vette focus in the past. If (I know, it’s a big if) you ever need a dealer’s help with your car, nice to know they are pro-Corvette
