Just as the title says. Has anyone in here owned a C7 Stingray then sold it and bought a C6 Z06? Did you regret the decision? Yes? No? Thoughts?

Depends how much tech you want out of the experience. The C6 Z06 is a beast. Pure track car but livable. But it feels old school.
The C7 (non Z06) is a nice balance with a much more tech oriented design... you have one.
Go sit in or drive a C6 Z06 and see what you think... only way to know.
I wouldn't be able to give up what I have in my C7 to go back to my old C6.. unless deal was completely off the hook. I needed money... or I was going to make it a pure track car and gut it.
Just my opinion but I owned both.

You'll lose some techie bits, and a more refined interior...but gain a fire breathing monster of a 7.0L 427 ci motor with a 7100 rpm redline that pulls like a freight train. It's a personal preference thing...driving habits, looks, etc. Many have done what you suggest, and many have gone the opposite way I would imagine. Drive one, and see what you think.

the c6z is a better long term keeper with the heads fixed. The c7 just has too much complexity with the e-dif and electronics. Too much to go wrong down the road.

Loved my C6Z06.... I would have never sold that car had I not found a deal on a ZR1... I feel that there is no comparison between the Stingray and the C6Z06. If its my money, i'm taking the C6Z w/o a second thought. But then again, I am a little biased never owning a C7... I have driven them and they are very nice drivers! As Mike stated, the 427ci LS7 is a beast of an engine.

Nobody will ever again build an NA car like the C6 ZO6. Mine is in the garage and I don't think I'll ever sell it. I got a chance to drive my friends C7 ZO6 and it's just not the same. Too refined, like driving a fast Cadillac.
That LS7 is the ****.

I have had a C6 (non Z06) and currently have a C7 Z51.
The 427 with the fixed heads is the only car I would consider moving to beyond a GT350 with the new block design.
The C7 will be more difficult to maintain in the longer run due to the E-Diff requiring maintenance at a dealer (every 60k-80k ish if non-tracking), the mag-ride shocks are great until they pour fluid everywhere. The engine uses DI which means it will build up carbon slowly (dry sump helps) if you have the old style PCV routing (newer way helps a lot). And lets not get into the electronics/AFM/The valves on the exhaust etc..
I would love just a 2010 Z06 so it has the TR6060, fix the heads, add the C7 style headlights, and a C7 Wickerbill spoiler.
Only modifications after the heads would be a intake manifold, headers, dry sump tank, and bushings.
The C6Z is probably one of the last great NA manual Corvettes we will see. If the C7 has a mechanical rear diff, dry sump, and non-mag ride then I would pick it due to the styling and interior.
I'm actually selling my C7 Z51 now since I didn't want the A6 transmission, while good I just want a manual again. I'll find a C6Z to fill the voice but have my S2000 to get me by for the time being.

CBM .. Beautiful Z! Wish mine was black vs silver.
To Billy, the OP. I own both, C6 (Z06 & ZR1 )and C7. 3LT Z51 ) Drive both daily. The C7 is what I call a chic’s car. All the goodies, leather everywhere and a comfortable ride if you keep it in touring mode. The sound system is as good as a Cadillac, the same for all the other creature comforts. I especially like the performance data recorder, the front and rear cameras and overall performance. Off the line it’s plenty quick. Mine is black on black, gets plenty of thumbs up.
Like the comments above, the C6 Z06 is pure analog driving with enormous power. Stiff ride, lousy sound system and noisy interior. All things that don’t bother me in the least. To go from a C7 to a C6 is akin to going from first class in a 747 to front seat in a F15 Eagle. Hard to compare. If you get a good deal on a low mile Z06, plenty out there, and you commit $5000 in head upgrades replacement and maybe another $1000 in a new stereo nav system ... you’ll have the best of both worlds. Reliability, performance and pure driving exhilaration.
If you want zero buyers remorse, step up and buy a ZR1 .. off the charts in all categories. $20 + grand more than a comparable Z06, but worth every penny. They’ll retain their value better as well.
You may not impress the snowflakes, but you’ll rarely get challenged by European performance cars.

If you go for the C6Z, make sure to get the 3LZ package for the nicer leather interior. Not quite C7 quality, but definitely a step up. If you can, go for the '12-13 cars.
The LS7 and Z06 experience really is special and makes you feel like a rockstar when your driving it.

Mild bolt ons and your c7 will make as much or more power. I would just go that route IMO.

Tech is good enough
Went from a ‘17 focus rs (so a little different than your situation) to an ‘08 z06. Tech was a concern. Easily fixed with a pioneer nex head unit. Have wireless carplay and am happy as a clam . It is my only car and DD, couldnt be happier.

Heads+cam for the C6Z means a supercharger for the C7 to be close. Not win, be close.

But not everyone is chasing big numbers or modded c6z speed. He can do basic bolt ones and make 470-480rwhp, which is c6z fast from a power perspective.
