Last year I built a pro drift car installing a brand new LS9 engine on a BMW E30 & results were awesome performance wise, the LS9 has such an amazing power delivery maximizing torque so early in the RPM range 604ft/lbs @ 3800RPM. This year I'm building another drift car & I'm currently exploring engine options looking for something that supersedes the LS9 in terms of performance. I'm considering the Edelbrock LS 416 which is equipped with an E-Force supercharger. My main reason considering this engine is that Edelbrock sells the engine as package including accessories, wiring harness, ECM & tune, similar to GM's 'connect & cruise' packages, such package would make the swap process much easier & less time consuming. I wonder if such engine is as reliable as factory built LS engines?
I'd appreciate your feedback about the Edelbrock 416 or any other engine choice suggestions.
