Default Best place to buy C6 ZR1 carbon rotors

I have a 2011 ZR1 and the front rotors are starting to delaminate on inside edges. Car has 25,000 miles on it. Any suggestions for a good source/reasonable price for rotors? Is it better to buy just rotors or complete rotor/hats? Thanks guys

I have these female threaded lug guide tools from Reverse Logic protect your caliper and rotors from being scratch while removing a wheel.

Good luck!

I've seen them selling for between $1300 and $1600. There got to be a better way.

There is! Switch over to iron. I wore out my front rotors in one year. The rears were half used up. I track my ZR1.

Wasn't there a forum vendor making CCB rotor replacements? Or was that just for the C7 (and are the C6 ZR1 & C7 Z06 rotors the same or different)?

25,000 miles seems low for CC rotors to be replaced have you tracked your car?

That's what I was thinking. Mine has almost 60K miles.

Yes. Pay to play. But for iron! These CC lose their surface as they lose weight. When they lose surface, there is less and less pad to rotor contact. And then you have less braking power. I lived it.....

I bought the car 2 months ago. Its never been tracked. The inside wear started happening almost right away, hence needing new front rotors. I will never go steel either.

While changing you should go with the updated version from 2012 Brembo add small threaded holes on the hat this allow them to put small balancing weight and finally get rid of the annoying vibration issue. see pic.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing the picture of the updated carbon brake rotor. Makes a lot of sense.

Cheapest I have found is on rockauto.com, $1229 for front and $1535 for rear. You can always call Gene Culley at Cultrag peformance. That sucks about them being chipped on the back side. Probably previous owner or dealer may have dropped the wheel on them taking them off. Have to be careful pulling the wheels off the car. You can buy the foam carbon ceramic brake protectors if you don't have them.

As Scramblerman said, someone damaged that rotor at some point OR something is chewing away at it. Are both rotors the same?

That tells me you don't track your car.

I used up $3k worth of front rotors and 3 sets of front pads in one season. Add to the brake fade I was experiencing that started mid season. Iron IS the way to go.

Also, this is not a permanent change to my ZR1.

I noticed the same thing on my 11 ZR1 that I just picked up in March with 19k miles. It isn't as bad and its only on the driver side. I assumed someone banged it or dropped the rotor at some point. 2k miles later and it doesn't seem to be getting worse. I'm just going to continue monitoring it.

you'r right my brakes have never seen a track not even a panic stop. Being a track car would be a different story and I guess I'll do like you.
