Anybody worried about first year production problems?
With all the problems S4 and M3 are having I'm wondering if it would be good to wait a year so they could work out the bugs on the new Z06. I'm have little exp. with vettes so I don't know if they had first year problems with previous models. Thanks for the input

Ha,
First year problems? They STILL have problems! Seriously I'd say it is a toss-up. This is a new car, but it is also an "evolution" not a "revolution" so some of the kinks may not appear.
But there will be some. The problem is that GM doesn't seem poised to fix them in a year anyway. Not based on past experience.
Buying a Vette is a crapshoot. You either get one of the dreaded problems (column lock, rocking seat, etc...) or you get lucky. If you get one, they seem to fix the bad ones under warranty.

The first year Z06 will be the second year for the C6. It at least has that going for it. I would probably buy in the spring anyway because I live in a northern climate. I'll watch the forums and if there isn't much in the way of problems, then I just may buy the first year. In the spring.

Not worried
I will get an extended warranty and start having fun with it from day one. I need a better reason than that to wait longer. A reason why I would wait is if I hear the following year they add another 30+ HP, then I may wait.

Don't quote me but I think there were about 300 changes, corrections, modifications from the 2001 ZO6 to the 2002 ZO6. Some just suspension changes, to the piston rings, and the adding of the HUD, increase HP. I think the 2nd year C6 ZO6 will go thru a lot of post production changes from 1st year to 2nd year.
I am planning on getting a C6 as soon as they come out, and then in year 2 of the ZO6 I will trade in for that one, or maybe the Blue Devil if they build it.
Until then i will enjoy my SC ZO6 :auto:

I will wait for the 2006 Z06 or what ever they call it if the HP toWT ratio is good enough. I go 11.80 now and I'm not stepping down.
