From what I've read it's in the rotor design.

You can hear it a bit at 21-22 seconds on the video, when the car is facing you. GM may have done some sound muffling on the intake tract.

Case in point when I had my GTP you could hardly hear the blower until I installed the SLP hood and cold air box then at WOT it screamed.

I wold say mostly due to intake piping nd air silencing. Change the tubing....hear the blower. Same thing with XLR-V's that we work on. Quiet as can be stock...change to some round solid tubing and a free vlow filter...and it sounds like a typical roots blower.

^ I could of sworn the new blades result in quieter operation, but like the others have said the intake piping etc really quites it down. I'm sure an aftermarket intake and a new pulley will have them screaming like a KB'd poopstang

That video is not a good one to tell if you can hear the blower.

When the car is coming at the camera (most likely to hear the blower), its always coming into a turn so its laying on the brakes instead, then when its on the gas paddle the car is pulling away from the camera so all youre hearing is exhaust.

Thats just my common sense way of looking at it.

only 10lbs of boost and restrictive intake and sound deadening..

put on a filter a pulley for 15lbs and listen to it scream!

The car actually does have a whine from the SC but it is not very pronounced. The lobe design of the blades and the angle that they are machined at make for a more efficient system. Additionally the intake uses a Helmholtz resonator like the LS3 intake to reduce noise. The new Eaton SC R1900 also has a more advanced airflow system to improve efficiency and cooling.

Its not loud like the M112 or M122, the 112 is loud with just 8lbs.

Cause the car is lame.

Nah just joking. I'd probably drive one.

At the Bash Tadge talked about the new blower. He said that compared to previous designs it has 35% less parasitic loss and is 10 decibels quieter. They credit the tighter twisted 4-lobe rotors and a powder coating on the rotors, which wears in to a close tolerance. This new blower design convinced them to go with a supercharger instead of the twin turbos they first experimented with.

Can you imagine 620HP on 10 PSI, how about an intake exhaust and pulley at 15 PS1 700+HP with bolt ons??? I bet a cam would be a PITA to put on though undue the inner cooler and related plumbing, then the blower, then you can pull the heads etc..

The video said low 7:40's, didn't the Z06 turn a 7:30? I cant imagine this is slower with the upgraded suspension, steering feel, and 120 more ponies, I mean it would have to gain at least a second or two just with the power increase.

With the increased efficiency the new 4-lobe design is just a couple percent less efficient than a turbo set-up, as opposed to current 3-lobe designs that are 30-40% less efficient than typical twin-turbo setups.

The car will turn better numbers than that , but dont forget that the Z06 is more the track car, and the ZR1 more grand tour, so dont expect the numbers to be that much better, or better at all, than the Z06.

GM says the ZR1 will run in 7:2x and will definitely beat the GT-Rs 7:29. Not only this, but GM is claiming the ZR1 will beat any currently standing track time (for stock cars) at any track. It's going to be waay faster than the ZO6
