The only official (GM) announcement is that the LS9 engine will be SAE rated at 638 HP & 604 ft-lbs torque. No vehicle performance numbers yet.

Man GM is really playing this one up...A month or so before they're about to start producing production cars and still no freekin performance specs! Better be putting out some mind boggling numbers on the track or some might not be so happy.

Not good.

Suggests performance specs aren't up to expectations ???

Too late now to be making any major modifications to car ... weight reduction, HP increase, etc.

Just using simple physics you can live up to expectations. The ring number is the one that makes me laugh. They said they could beat the GT-R number and they have not done it yet. They even released the CTS-V ring times and video proof as well as the performance numbers and the V is due out months after the ZR-1. What are the 0-60 and 1/4 mile expectations?

3.2s and 10.9 on stock tires?? That would be my guess.

Any of you go to the ZR1 unveiling at the NCM April bash? Corvette managers and engineers were there answering questions, presenting seminars, and doing walk around reviews of the ZR1.

From what I remember:

* Chevrolet will release Nurburing times AFTER they have a production ZR1 to use.
* ZR1 production begins July 14, 2008.
* Official times will be released AFTER production cars are built.
*Chevrolet will build " signfiicantly less than 2.000 ZR1's for the U.S. during the first year of production."
* Chevrolet expects to have a gas guzzler tax on the ZR1 (Goverment regulations, not GM's choice).

Hope this helps clear up some of the mis-information.

I really don't see 3.2 0-60 in a rear wheel drive car on RF's. If so that thing will rape everything on the road (even more than I think it will already).

Maybe...With that new launch control we might see some fast times.

GM never said they can beat the GTR's time on the N-ring. Some online magazine took their words and put a twist on it.

That will be absolutely no problem if GM runs it the same way they did. The Z06 can do that.
